Let's be honest. The Jersey Shore is the best place to live. We have the best food, the best music, and the best beaches. Here are some things all of us from the shore know to be true.

1. The pizza

You go to school out of state, and people rave about Dominos, Papa Johns, and you sit there IN AMAZEMENT. Where's The Three Brothers?! The little mom and pop family owned pizzerias!? The homemade zeppoles and garlic knots!?

2. Still feeling awkward pumping your own gas

You get out of your car, and you glance around. You *feel* people's eyes because they know that you may look like you know what you're doing, but on the inside, you're still trembling with fear that your car is going to explode because some nice Wawa gas attendant can't pump your gas for you.

3. The beach

If you're from the Jersey Shore, you love the beach. There's no doubt about it. No one else understands the happiness it brings or the beauty that it really is.

4. BENNIES

Three words for you: BENNIES. GO. HOME.

5. Places like Dairy Queen will never quite live up to the homemade ice cream you've had.

Almost every place on the Jersey Shore is family owned. You know when you walk into that little ice cream shop and the bells jingle as the doors open, those people are going to SERVE IT UP. And any ice cream you get anywhere else will not amount to the greatness that those places are.

6. People out of state are so nice!

But seriously!? Where's the sarcasm!? The cursing!? Why didn't you flip me off on the road for no reason!?

7. "The Jersey Shore"

We don't know them, yeah we've probably seen them, no we're nothing like them.

8. WaWa

One around every corner; Every. Glorious. Corner.

9. The music scene

Besides having a pretty good local music scene, Jersey is proud of have served up some of the greats: Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and we cannot forget the incomparable Jonas Brothers.

10. Nothing feels more like home

Jersey is a place where everyone is welcome. The beach, the memories, the family and friends. After things like Sandy, no one saw more of a community or more love and support.

The Jersey Shore is a special place. Would you really want to live anywhere else?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
