As nice as material things are, it's the little gestures that us girls love most. A note telling me how much I mean to you means way more to me than a piece of jewelry. We want to not only be told, but shown how much we mean to you. To all you guys out there, if you use this list as a guide, you are sure to win our hearts forever.
1. Send us good morning and goodnight texts.
This is every girl's weakness. Guys, I promise you that if you do this we will wake up smiling and go to sleep smiling. Nothing means more to us than knowing we were your first and last thought of the day. Our hearts absolutely melt when the good morning or goodnight text happens to be a paragraph long.
2. Tell us we're beautiful.
As great as our egos feel when a guy calls us "hot" or "sexy," the word that we really love to hear is "beautiful." We want to know that you find more than our bodies attractive.
3. Surprise us with food.
It's true, food is the way to a girl's heart. We love it when guys surprise us with our favorite foods (especially during that time of the month). You can just show up with chicken nuggets and I'd be the happiest girl in the world!
Bonus points if you cook for us.
4. Cuddling.
We absolutely love those nights filled with cuddling and watching movies. Yes, we love to Netflix and "chill," but sometimes we just want to lay in your arms.
5. Take us on real dates.
We don't expect anything super expensive or over-the-top. It could be as simple as a walk on the beach or picnic at the park and we'd be on cloud nine. It's the thought that counts!
6. Show us off on social media.
As girls, we always post photos and tweet about the special guy in our life. We love when guys mutually show us off on their social media pages and brag about us. Even just taking pictures with us makes our day.
7. Surprise us with flowers.
It may sound cliche, but girls love flowers. Simple, but romantic.
8. Call us.
Texting is convenient and all, but we want to hear your voice. Picking up the phone and calling us is so much more meaningful and personal.
9. Act like a gentleman.
It may seem old school, but we are still very impressed with gentleman-like gestures. Pulling out our chairs for us at restaurants, opening the car door for us, and letting us walk off of an elevator first are all ways to earn bonus points in our hearts.
10. Randomly show us affection.
As I'm sure you've figured out by now, girls adore surprises—and attention. Nothing gives us butterflies in our stomachs like catching us off guard. We absolutely love when you randomly kiss us on the forehead or grab our hand to hold.
