We've all had those people we hate working with everyday-- and if you haven't yet, trust me you will. From my experience these are the best ways of dealing with those individuals to minimize the drama.
1. Don't Stoop to their level
Realize that you are the bigger person and don't let their horrible attitude effect your life.
2. Be A Duck
Let whatever they say flow like water right off your back. Don't get hung up on their pettiness.
3. Turn It Into Humor
One way of coping with people's behavior towards you it to turn it into a humorous situation. It shows you really don't care what they think and their opinion doesn't matter to you.
4. Be Mature
No matter what you really want to say or how you want to act always treat them how you would want to be treated, so they don't have an excuse to make your life anymore miserable at work.
5. Arm Yourself
Always be prepared for a confrontation with level-headedness and facts. Keeping a cool head is the best way to handle someone else's irrationality and others will also see how that person reacts and makes a fool out of themselves.
6. Handle it Yourself
Unless the situation really calls for it don't involve your superiors, show the other person that you won't be caught up in childish behavior by tattle-tailing.
7. Don't Let Your Anger Control You
After hearing their b.s. and any nasty gossip you're likely to feel offended and pretty peeved, but don't let that effect your judgement or allow you to make rash decisions.
8. Don't Gossip
Things always come back around to people, which is probably how you heard whatever they said, so don't gossip to other employees but rather to people who don't know them and are likely to never meet them.
9. Stand Up For Yourself
If the situation reaches a certain point, don't take someone else's b.s. Make sure you voice your opinion on the situation and don't be bowled over by the other person.
10. Think about the situation
If the job really isn't worth it to you and things are making you miserable, explain the situation to your superior and of it still don't improve leave the situation. It's not worth it to have toxic people in your life that can alter your health or mental state.
In the end there will always be these situations in every work place and the best way to deal with them is by not involving yourself in someone else's immaturity. Be the best you can be, always be yourself and screw everyone else.
