10 Ways The Harley Quinn Film Can Stay True To The Harley We Know And Love

Harley Quinn is known mostly for being the Joker’s girlfriend. Yet, in recent years she has come into her own. The Harley Quinn who was once nothing more than an accessory to the Joker has become a fleshed out character with her own story to tell. So, after the "Suicide Squad" movie came out, there was a lot of talk about how Harley was perceived. People like to point to her and her outfits and say that she’s not a good "role model." Well, if you’ve read the comics you’d know she’s not supposed to be a role model in the first place. However, she is a character who has a story worth telling and that’s why we have to be thankful she’s getting her own film. Here are some things a Harley Quinn fan, like myself, would hope to see in the upcoming Harley Quinn film that make her the Harley Quinn we know and love.

1. Harley Quinn has killed people. She’s not in jail for being quirky; she’s in jail for being a murderer. Therefore, she shouldn’t be anyone’s role model in the first place, outfit aside.

2. She’s an animal lover. In her first solo run one of the people we see her attack is mistreating an innocent dog. She has also adopted several hundred, if not a thousand, animals with her girl, Poison Ivy.

3. In addition to working and owning an apartment building, she’s also a competitive roller derby player, hence the outfit! Also, you think roller derby is violent? Harley takes being a jammer to a whole nother level.

4. She’s incredibly intelligent. Before she became “Harley Quinn” she was Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, who was one of the most respected psychiatrists in Gotham... Well, until she met the Joker.

5. She’s not a psychopath. She’s actually a very loving and caring individual.

6. She is, however, psychotic…

7) She has a loose grip on reality but she does have morals and empathy. They’re just a little twisted.

8. On a deep level she knows the Joker doesn’t love her, even though she loves him very dearly.

9. While we’re on the subject of the Joker, she fell in love with him while he was her patient and he treats her as nothing more than an object to be used and thrown away because he is a sociopath. He lost every trace of humanity the day he fell into that vat of acid (If you go by the "Killing Joke" comic book not the film because that does not depict anything correctly).

10. Her soul mate is Poison Ivy. Let’s face it, they have a very caring, occasionally romantic relationship. No one treats her better than Poison Ivy. It was Poison Ivy who saved her after the first time the Joker tried to kill her. That also made her immune to Poison Ivy’s kiss, which is normally toxic and gave her slightly enhanced strength and agility. Les be honest, best couple ever.

I wish Margot Robbie well with her venture in making a Harley Quinn solo film. I just hope she does us all a favor and stays true to the Harley we know and love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
