10 Ways To Tell If You Are A Music Junkie
humanepursuits.com

We all listen to music in our lives. There are so many genres out there: Pop, Culture, Classical, Hip-Hop, etc. We all can say we are music lovers, but to what extent are we one? Are you just a simple music junkie, or are you the all-the-way type of music junkie? Below is a list of 10 ways to tell if you are a true music junkie!

1. Everyone has, at least, one pair of headphones; but how about two or more? Some say more than one is excessive, but for a true music lover, there is no limit.

2. We all know that downloadable music is in, and much faster to obtain than CD’s or records. Most people have one way of getting their music. Well, ever thought about all three, like a real junkie?

3. Speaking of CD’s and records, those things would be everywhere. You have a full case of CD’s, or a whole bookshelf of records somewhere in your home. Why? Some to display, some to listen. Real music junkies never believe that too much is really “too much."

4. Devices- we all have them. Whether it’s a computer, tablet, or smartphone. But, on which do you carry your music on? One? Two? Three? Music junkies tend to carry all their music on every device. I mean, you never know when you need to switch devices and keep the music going, right?

5. Following the devices, the chargers for them. You always have one on hand in case you need to keep the battery up along with the music. Even just simple batteries for your stereos, there’s always some spares lying around somewhere.

6. Also on those portable devices- more like smartphones- the storage is mostly gone. Not because of the multiple pictures one takes, but because of the large amount of music they have on there. Yes, we know it’s too much. No, we don’t mind at all. For a music junkie, it’s music of photos.

7. A person may listen to a song to hear the song as a whole. However, music lovers like to hear a song many times to hear how each instrument sounds and fits the song. Sometimes we’ll like every instrument, sometimes we’ll think a different beat needs to be used. It’s just how it goes.

8. Music can relate to our emotions. That sad song we heard after a rough day, or a happy song when something good happens. A junkie has songs for every emotion we can feel- even the “I don’t care about anything at the moment” attitude, don’t worry, there’s a song for that.

9. The playlists that are made. Some may just have a few. However, a true lover might have various playlists for various occasions. Driving home? There’s one. Shower time? Another. We have more than enough playlists for many occasions- maybe even having one for when it’s play time with the pets? Who knows!

10. Quoting song lyrics daily. Every day, something happens that relates to a song, so you just have to quote it! It’s the right thing to do- at least in the mind of a music junkie.

There are many more I’m sure others can come up with, but these are the top ten I can list as to tell if you are a true music junkie like myself. Did you match all ten? To what extend are you a music junkie?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
