It's Thanksgiving season and everyone is feeling ready for the holidays. Sure there are obvious things to be thankful for such as your family, your friends, maybe a sport or a new puppy, but obvious things aren’t as fun. As a college student, you become the epitome of being independently dependent. In other words, there are many things each college student could be thankful for this coming Thanksgiving:
1. The heat (this one's for students who have winter)
No matter if you live off campus or on campus, going to college in an area that gets cold makes heat a very valuable thing. Waking up to a warm room is essential to getting your late-fall/winter days going.
2. Music
This might sound like a silly idea but think about how many times music has either made things less awkward or more fun. Also, for those times where you are walking long distances, music is always a friend to have.
3. Friends...with benefits
Not everyone gets to experience this but for the most part, if it does happen, it takes place in college…and it is definitely something to be thankful for.
4. Lanyards
Ninety-five percent of college students carry around a lanyard to hold their keys and/or IDs. Because losing things is a part of being a young adult, your lanyard is one of the most underrated yet most important things you possess. On top of that, lanyards can represent schools, sports teams, or anything really, and for that we are thankful as well.
5. Netflix
This category includes Amazon Prime, HBO, and Hulu. Thank God for TV and movie streaming.
6. The coffee shop on campus
This is pretty much self-explanatory.
7. Late-night Chinese takeout
I know I like to crush a late-night General Gau Chicken Special, and for that I am thankful.
8. The money your parents give you when you go home for break
This is especially important to be thankful for because a reimbursement is always necessary around this time of year.
9. Being able to turn your read receipts off
Banger of an idea and always something to be thankful for as an iPhone user.
10. Alcohol
Last but not least, college students should be thankful for alcohol as it supplies us with an incentive to get through the weeks and a certain adventure during the weekends.
