" Mean Girls" made cliques popular. After that blockbuster movie everybody wanted to be in a clique; more importantly they wanted to be in the popular clique. However, I think that in this post "Mean Girls" era cliques are no more. At least that's my experience in college, maybe high school is still full of catty, mean girls who knows. ( I hope high school isn't full of mean girls because life is hard enough and girls need to stick together!) Anyway, in college you have the arrival of the 'friend group'. Similar to a clique, but very different. A friend group is a like a clique in that it is a large group of friends. However friend groups are different because those in the group are not the same. That is the beauty of the friend group. Everyone has their own special personality that makes the friend group really work well together. Oh you don't believe that cliques are gone? Then read this list a count how many of the descriptions match with your own friends.

The Queen Bee

If cliques still existed, she'd be in the popular one. She has great fashion sense and is always giving out her old clothes to her friends. She is also probably the assumed leader of your friend group because she has so many great leader qualities from being Queen Bee back in high school. You don't want to make her mad though because she is probably capable of tearing you apart.

The Super Smart One

Girl's got brains and beauty! She's the one you want to be staying up cramming for finals with! She is probably going to end up as a neurosurgeon or something that involves being a genius. Just because she's a super smartie doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun though. Once the books go away this girl is ready to play!

The Quiet One

She'll usually pop in from time to time with a text in the group message about having a chill hangout. Sometimes you forget she's even in the group till you're looking at a text about a chill movie night. She's a great person to confide in. When she talks everybody knows it's worth listening to.

The One You'll Probably Have to Pick Up From Jail

You all love this girl to death, but sometimes she's just a little too crazy! She's always dragging the rest of you along on some potentially illegal adventure. She oozes confidence with every step she takes. Some of you secretly wish you were her. Some nights you leave your phone on ring just in case you get a call from the county jail. You'd pick her up in a heartbeat though.

The Mom

The Mom of the group is not a literal mom. The Mom is just the only responsible one in the group. She'd be the one picking you up from jail or giving you a ride home when you need one. She gives great advice and is always there for you. When making plans you all look to her to make sure the plan is logical, then like most teens do you ignore it and do what you want anyway. Don't take The Mom for granted though, you'll be very thankful when she helps you out of a rut.

The Weird One

I mean 'weird' in the best way possible. She isn't 'kill you in your sleep' weird, but more a a quirky weird. She is always saying things that make you think twice. Her jokes don't make much sense but you laugh anyway because that's what good friends do. You never really know how much you enjoy her company until she loses her phone on some nature retreat and you can't hear her strange theories for a while. Also a girl you shouldn't take for granted.

The Innocent One

This one is similar to The Mom. She always wants to stay out of trouble so her parents won't freak and lock her away in a tower or something. She'll follow you on your crazy adventures but with a lot of reluctance. The kind of girl your parents want you to spend time with and or be.

The Boy Crazy One

Very, very pretty. Very, very interested in boys. This friend always has a new date story to tell you every time you see her. Sometimes you have to remind her that friends come first though. You all love hearing her stories though.

The Exercise Freak

You never see much of this girl because she's always at the gym. She occasionally texts the group asking if anyone wants to go for a run. You're all jealous of how great she looks but then you remember that you don't actually care enough. She's always down for Sunday Brunch at a healthy place after her morning workout.

The Sloth

Not an actual sloth, just the really, really lazy friend. You can usually find her in bed on Friday nights watching Netflix surrounded by popcorn and candy. She is always down for hanging out as long as it doesn't involve moving. This friend never replies because she is usually sleeping.

So there you have it, proof that friend groups are not cliques! A clique would be a whole group of sloths for example, and wow imagine how boring that group must be. Friend groups are like a balanced breakfast; they have all the ingredients you need to make your day better. So which friend are you? Tag your friends to match their descriptions, spread the love!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
