What are you doing this weekend?

10 Types Of College Weekenders

We are all busy college students during the week running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to hold it all together. When the weekend comes, we all utilize them to the best of our ability. Below are the 10 stereotypical college weekenders. Which one are you?

1. Home for Parental laundry, free food, and friends

You know the type... all of us. This type does not discriminate. You can be a freshman who doesn't want to use your dorm community laundry facilities and have Mr. Creepy take out your delicates for you. You could be a sophomore who is tired of eating ramen noodles every day. A junior trying to go home and see friends, or a senior missing their fur babies.

2. Netflix Binge Watcher

All week you've been dedicated to studies, homework, and extracurriculars. Now is the time to curl up in a ball, with the lights off, with some girl scout cookies, and watch episode after episode of your show of choice. You only get up for restroom breaks or more food.

3. The Party Person

You manage the stresses of your week like a champ... or not, no judgement. All you want to do is unwind and not use your cranium until Monday dawns again. You've been stuck in the library in sweats, and now you transform into your party alter ego ready to take the town and go Friday to Sunday nonstop. No regrets!

4. Hibernating Person

You've pulled two all-nighters cramming for tests and slept little during the week. Now is your time to fall into a blissful-dead-coma in a pitch black room with a locked door, never to be disturbed again. Just until you drag your poor self out of bed and barely make it to your Monday 8 am, still feeling you need more sleep.

5. Errands

This person has been so engrossed in school all week, all other things have fallen to the wayside and now need to be addressed. You need to go to the bank, grocery shopping, do laundry, pick up this, drop off a package, this, that, and the other thing. You've got a list made and are sure it's all doable, but by the end of the weekend you've accomplished two things. You just move the rest to next weekend, you'll totally finish it then...maybe.

6. The Homework Do-er

You are either the good person who is doing all their homework, or you put everything off and are doing it all at the last minute during the weekend. You are surrounded by books, spirals, and study cards with highlighters fanning out around you.

7. The Reader

It's time to escape into another world. Not the world of study textbooks, but something you actually like. Curl up and dive in. Laugh, cry,and have a ball. What's in the book is so much better than real life.

8. Videogamers

Say good bye to the gamers. Class ends, and computers and gaming consoles switch on, headphones slide on as they slither down into their chairs to enter into their gaming worlds.

9. The Travelers

You are itching to get out of town, and fast. You are ready to go visit and explore the world. Whether you are visiting friends in another college town or a new city, you don't care as long as you're not stuck sitting at home.

10. The Procrastinator

You have a million and one things to do, and just don't want to adult. You've been so good, you went to all of your classes this week and did homework. You don't want to do everything else just quite yet. You will do any and every other thing except that one thing you really need to until the last second.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
