I can't think of a time where I watched a tv show and didn't find a character I totally related to. As much as I can understand and connect to a lot of characters, there are quite a few who I look at and think two questions. Why can't I be them? How can I be them? Then, I realize that I can. So can you! Just watch, and learn.
1. Andy Dwyer
Why so serious? No, really. There's no need to be! If there's one thing I've learned from the Mouserat front man, it's that there's never a bad time for a good time. Andy is passionate, loving, and just wants to make other people happy. His heart is always in the right place and in this day and age, it's the biggest thing you can ask of someone.
2. Marshall Eriksen
I can only hope to be as great of a father as Big Fudge. His dedication to environmental protection is a page from his book that everyone should take. Marshall recognizes that taking care of the Earth is so important for the people of today, so the people of tomorrow will still have a world to live in.
3. The Doctor (David Tennant)
The Doctor is the wittiest man in the universe, and doesn't let anyone forget it. Tennant was the Doctor that made me really connect with the show and form a bond with the character. He is more than willing to go out of his way to protect those who need it, whether he knows them or not. Even the cruelest of villains should be treated with care because we are all truly equal. Allons-y!
4. Coach Eric Taylor
Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose. Eric Taylor has drilled this expression into my head and I'll honestly never forget it. I'm not lucky enough to be one of the boys in Friday Night Lights who get to call him Coach, but the work ethic he instilled in his players certainly rubbed off on me through the screen.
5. Hermes Conrad
Most people with pencil-pusher jobs want to clock in, go through the motions, and get home. Hermes Conrad is not most people. I don't think I've seen a character love such a dull job so much before! His admiration for the work that he does is truly inspiring and a breath of fresh air. The best part is, he was a world-known and respected athlete! You would think he would hate a change of pace like that, but he couldn't be happier.
6. Bobby Singer
If the phrase, "I don't give a damn," had a face, it would be the face of Bobby Singer from Supernatural. He is the go-to man for information for Sam and Dean Winchester, but that doesn't mean he's any less important. He knows just how important he is to them, and is happy to remind them that he won't take any attitude from them.
7. Noah Levenstein
Sure he's the dad who you would love to stop making his point six sentences sooner, but Mr. Levenstein is dad goals. He's confident, supportive, and always offers a helping hand. There's no one I rather have to give me "the talk."
8. Chandler Bing
I'm pretty sure I'm already Chandler even though I keep getting told I'm Joey. Nonetheless, Chandler is the man. He can build you up or take you down a little with his very sarcastic ways, but we all need that friend. Don't we?
9. Lip Gallagher
That's right, Lip Gallagher. Yes, he's very rough around the edges, but take a look at the kid! He's only in college, but he's going to school for engineering which is already hard enough as it is. On top of that, he struggles with having a deadbeat dad, a mom who's never around, five insane siblings, and tries his hardest to help provide for them. Respect.
10. Turtle
Say what you want about Turtle, but the guy works his tail off. He is determined to make it on his own, no matter how much money and support is offered from his friends. The guy won't take a handout, and I admire that. The American Dream is alive and well.
