1. White high-top Converse
Let’s be honest, they’re not white anymore and you don’t plan on washing them anytime soon, yet they’re still your favorite shoes. Your mom never fails to tell you that you have so many nicer shoes every time you wear them, either.
2. Oversized flannels (or any other long-sleeved shirt)
We all went through a stage of wearing everything two sizes to small (even the guys), so I guess it only makes sense to go through a stage where everything is far too large. At least this stage is a lot comfier.
3. Socks and sandals
Oh, it’s 40 degrees out? Let me just put some socks on with my sandals.
4. Stickers covering the entirety of laptops
Redbubble is in luck, someone decided to cover their laptop in stickers and the trend has spiraled out of control.
5. The half bun and half ponytail
Remember when your mom used to put your hair in a half ponytail in elementary school and you hated it? Leave it to us to give it a try in our 20s and love it.
6. Water bottles
Everyone on college campuses have a water bottle in their hand. Everyone. We have to stay hydrated, am I right?
7. Extremely plain dresses
At least they’re easy to dress up with a nice statement necklace or scarf.
8. Leggings
We could care less what our parents say, leggings are pants. Leggings make getting dressed in the morning that much easier, not to mention they go with just about everything.
9. Large glasses
If you wear glasses, they’re more than likely quite large. Speaking as someone who is writing this with glasses on their face, it’s helpful having so much “eye wiggle room.” The celebrities love them too!
10. Crocs
As much as it pains me to say, they’re making a comeback. Even though I attend a very small college, I see them far more often than I wish. Even though they were my favorite shoe back in the fourth grade, I was more than glad to see them go.
Some of these trends we will hold onto until it will be far from socially acceptable to keep them around. Others, we can’t wait to see go. What will be next? Fanny packs? Oh wait, those are a popular trend on Spring Break…
