10 Times Troy Bolton Was Your Ideal Man

You're lying if you say you did not have a crush on Troy Bolton.

10 Times Troy Bolton Was Your Ideal Man

If you were a Disney Channel kid around 2006, you know that Mr. Troy Bolton had the hearts of girls across the world. He could sing, dance, act, and to top it all off, he was the star of his high school basketball team. Girls wanted to marry him and guys wanted to be him. Was there anything Troy couldn’t do? In honor of the High School Musical heartthrob, here are ten reasons why Troy Bolton will always be our favorite wildcat.

1. He was oh so driven.

Who doesn’t love a man with ambitions? This guy had so many ambitions and talents that he couldn’t decide which path to follow. If you ever find a man with as many talents as Troy, you better get him quick ladies.

2. He has a soft spot for the sweet girls.

We all know Troy could’ve easily gone for Sharpay, but instead he chose America’s sweetheart and the rest was history.

3. That smile

Can we just take a moment to appreciate this beauty?

4. Troy Bolton made the bowl cut look good.

We had Zack and Cody who wore the bowl cut with pride, but let’s be honest, Troy stole our hearts and made every boy in your class grow his hair out.

5. Bet On It.

Do I even have to explain this one?

6. He is a team player.

Troy Bolton might be the star of his team, but he always makes sure to appreciate his teammates. If this isn’t boyfriend material I don’t know what is.

7. He redefined what it is to be masculine.

Why is it so taboo to be into the arts but also into athletics? Troy showed every little boy watching that you can perform on stage and on the court.

8. He gave Gabriella space.

When she told him she couldn't do it anymore, Troy let her go and respected her wishes. But that didn't stop them from giving us the greatest reunion song of all time.

9. When he asked Gabrielle to Senior Prom.

You are lying to yourself if you say you didn’t shed a tear. The award for best prom-posal will always go to Troy Bolton.

10. Only 32.7 miles away.

He chose a school exactly 32.7 miles from Gabriella at Stanford. Cue the tears. Instead of following the plans the rest of the world set out for him Troy chose the best option, which just happens to include theater, basketball and Gabriella.

Dear Troy Bolton, why did you have to set my standards so high at such a young age? And Disney Channel, did you really have to create such a perfect male specimen? The world is full of unfair things and the fact that Troy Bolton is a fictional character is just another one to add to the list.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
