It is that time of the year where every college student's school year is winding down to a close and finals are fastly approaching. All that work that was given to you on syllabus week is due right around the corner and I can bet 90 percent of you have yet to start it. Usually, when there comes a time in the school year where it is crazy busy and very stressful, I like to take the time I'm not doing homework and watch my favorite show on Netflix. I recently finished the series 'The Office': the US version and I still don't understand why it took me so long to go through such an amazing show. For those of you who have seen it know exactly how relatable each of the characters are on the show, so here are 10 times 'The Office' characters described finals week in college:

1. When your professor assigns you three exams and two papers the week before finals

I always look at my professor like this when they something, but when they do it right before finals week, I think that is just being straight out cruel. Especially when a professors final is cumulative, so on top of having to reteach yourself an entire semester's worth of material, you have to still learn new things and complete new assignments.

2. When the library and all the classrooms are filled

Sometimes you just want a quiet place to sit and study and work on your pile of assignments, especially if you rooming situation is like mine and your roommate never leaves and room is very disruptive. It can get hectic right before finals week, so trying to find a spot in the library of a classroom to sit in becomes the school version of The Hunger Games.

3. Getting NO sleep

This is just a normal thing in college, but for some reason between all the studying, writing papers, reading etc. sleep is just something that does not happen during finals and I think all of us students have accepted that.

4. Seeing other schools get to move out before you

I go to school with a bunch of other colleges in the area and 3 out of the 6 schools are finishing up their finals week and moving on, and yet here I am still trying to finish up my last day of classes.

5. Seeing your final grade as 79.999%

Seriously? You couldn't just round that .99 up to the next whole number and give me that B I deserved? It always depends on the professor, but most of the time your final grade will stay in that .99 range and you'll have to deal with that fact that you were so close, yet so far from that B.

6. Knowing you're halfway done with finals and getting a confidence boost

You are halfway done with "hell week" and you are feeling really good about the finals you have taken so far. Your easy finals are saved for last and you can just slide right through the rest of the week without a care in the world.

7. Staying up all night studying for your 8 a.m. final

You felt invincible at 2 a.m. studying all the material you need to know for your final for the next day, but all of a sudden your alarm goes off at 7:45 am the next day and you feel like a zombie.

8. Seeing the first question on your final and having no idea what the answer is

Even with all of that preparation, you look at the first question and whisper "what the f*ck" to yourself having absolutely no idea what to write. You start to question when you even learned this throughout the course of the semester and your mind just goes blank.

9. Trying to reach the word count on a paper

You are only off by about 50 more words and you literally have nothing else to say on the subject. You have reworded your last paragraph at least 10 times you still cannot figure out how to reach the word count.

10. Walking out of your last final

It is such a fantastic feeling when you put down your pencil and hand in that blue book to your professor and walk out that last final. You can now leave campus knowing for at least 3 whole months you can relax and not have to worry about writing another paper until September rolls around.

I'm sure all college students can relate to at least one of these feelings. It is clear that finals week is stressful, but just know that it only lasts 5 days and you will be able to make it through, with only a few mental breakdowns in between.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
