"Parks and Rec" is a wonderful show full of funny characters and moments. What you may not have noticed about it, is that "Parks and Rec" had a few times that it perfectly explained life as an adult.

1. Being required to interact with people

As an adult, you have to interact with people in many settings; at work, over the phone, and just in any setting outside of your home. There are many people who will not be very pleasant to talk to, but we do have to keep up a facade of kindness and cheerfulness.

2. The desire to be home

As an adult there are many errands to run, jobs to do, and places to go. In the midst of all of this, we must put on our brave face and deal with it until we can return to the comfort of our own homes, and just enjoy our own company.

3. Some days are worse than others

Some days don't go as planned, things go wrong over and over again. You can't seem to catch a break, and it feels like the world just has you on display. Just remember that it won't be like this every day.

4. Sometimes we need a little help

As life goes on, we will continue to be overwhelmed. We need to remember that even though we are adults, we can ask for help. It doesn't make us any less mature and it can help us make it through a day.

5. Sometimes we just don't get it

Confusion. Its a natural part of adulthood. We continue to try to work through it to educate ourselves more so that we can better understand. We shouldn't feel ashamed to show confusion, its a common part of life.

6. Working can be hard

Being away from your family, being on your feet, or cramped into an office for long hours of the day can be hard. It can start to feel like a nightmare, but when we get home to our families, seeing them with full mouths and big smiles, it makes it all worth while.

7. We live for days off

Your day off is never under appreciated. It can feel like the best day ever, to sleep in, watch TV all day, or just spend time with your family or your pets. The prospect of your day off keeps you going through the week.

8. We can act like we have it all together, but we don't

We plan and organize all day, but sometimes, we can't plan it all. Spontaneity is a good thing sometimes, as long as it is not the only way you do things. Not having everything figured out isn't a bad thing all the time.

9. Life does get hard

In this crazy thing we call life, it gets overwhelming. We get exhausted, physically and mentally. That's why it is important to have a strong support system of friends and family to help you get through it.

10. Its the best time of our lives

It may be hectic and crazy, but this stage in our lives are the best and most important parts. We are becoming the people we are always going to be. Remember that no matter how hard it gets, this is the best time of your life, don't loose sight of that. Take it all in.

Being an adult is crazy and hard, but it can be amazing. Live the life you want to live. You will get through it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
