10 Times Every Office Job Gal Celebrates

Whether you're working in a tiny town, a big city, or somewhere in between, as a summer intern, you're new to this whole "office job" thing. You're using Outlook for Business, you're working on not one but two monitors, and you're on conference calls. The moments when none of the above are happening (or maybe even when all of the above are happening) just demand celebration.

"Want to go to lunch?"

media.rbl.ms

Because yes, let's face it, we all love food. But also, being as many of us are away from home for the summer, it's an added treat if someone is offering to take you out to lunch: hellooooo well balanced meal.

"This dress has pockets!"

Except, you're not sorry, because, well, the dress has pockets. And they're wonderful. You're going to tell everyone you see today about them, be honest.

"It's Kimmy from accounting's birthday!"

So Kimmy isn't happy about getting older, but gosh dang it you're going to celebrate her! Nothing better than a good old fashioned happy birthday at lunch.

"I'm too full for donuts."

Their loss is truly your gain. Here in the office, those donuts are anybody's mid-morning sugar - and now they're going to be yours.

"5 new e-mails"

bestanimations.com

Let's face it, the first couple of days or weeks were a bit slow. These emails are a sign! They're giving you real work! You're ready!

One from Mom, one from Dad, one from last summer's coworker, spam, spam....sigh. Maybe tomorrow.

"Here's your desk"

media.tenor.com

Well, okay, so your desk isn't thaaaat big. But you have two monitors! You have a door! You have walls! You have drawers that are all your own! What's not to love?

"Hi, my name is..."

cdn6.gurl.com

Because you're not exactly an adult adult. Just like... a kind of adult. A girl with a job! But you want to pretend to be an adult, so you need to make friends like an adult. Step one, learn names. Step two... figure out their response to this question.

"...6th best place for females to work."

media.giphy.com

Does this need an explanation? It's cool, y'all.

"Your first paycheck..."

uproxx.files.wordpress.com

You'll be so weeeeealthy after all this! What a summer! What a life! You're rich!

"We're so glad to have you here."

i.gifer.com

Nothing warrants larger celebration than a comment like this! You're so glad to be here, and you're extra glad the feeling is mutual.

You're keeping the office lively this summer by celebrating the small stuff, and it's clear everybody around you appreciates it. So here's to you, office gal. Keep celebrating those victories and enjoy your summer!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
