Growing up happened in the blink of an eye. Were you not just five years old in Kindergarten stealing someone else’s favorite crayon? What about watching the new episodes of Pokémon when you were ten? Do you remember that crush you had when you were sixteen? Priorities are different but so are you. Here are ten times that will have you sitting back thinking “Damn, I’m an adult.”

1. When you are asked whether or not you have done your taxes…

What are these things you speak of? More money? Can I hire someone to do it for me?

2. When you realize Disney Channel sucks...

That’s So Raven. Even Stevens. Kim Possible. Thank you.

3. When you do not read the fine print of the apartment lease until after you sign it…

“Your soul is mine. Here is to the many service requests, rent statement mistakes and community emails you will get for the next fifteen months,” –xoxo apartment leasing specialists.

4. When a nap is no longer a punishment but a reward…

Oh, I have seven minutes and twenty five seconds to close my eyes. Goodbye, world.

5. When dinner is not waiting for you when you get home from work…

I could make a meal or I could eat a bag of chips. Same thing.

6. When your goal of the night is to find the cheapest bottle of wine you can…

You won’t even remember it was only three dollars once it is all gone.

7. When $1 tacos become the only tradition you care about…

Extra avocado, please.

8. When your school loan amount is more than what you make in a year…

I see poles, I see dollar bills.

9. When your parents tell you that you have to pay your own phone bill

That’s fine. No one texts me anyways.

10. When you start thinking about your high school reunion year down the road…

I have ten years to be a famous super model or become president. I’ll start my path tomorrow.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
