Yep, it's that time of year again. With finals just around the corner, chances are that a part of you is low-key freaking out about it, or if you're like me, you're putting off freaking out about it. Here are the ten inevitable thoughts the end of the semester will bring:
1. Thank God, it’s almost over.
Yessssss. Here's to beach days, summer jobs (gotta get that cash flow, doe,) concerts, stuffing your face with s'mores, camping trips, and getting less pale; in other words, here's to no homework, less breakdowns and more freedom, motherleckers.
2. HOLY SH*T IT’S ALMOST OVER
Crap. It's almost time for dare I say it, finals, and it feels at times as though you haven't learned a damn thing. Plus, with finals comes moving out and leaving your friends, which is NOT fun at all.
3. How much longer can I put *blank* off?
Whether it be laundry, that assignment you've had, for like, ever, or that test you need to study for, you better stop reading this garbage and get on that. You're welcome.
4. I really need to get started on *blank*, man.
Whether number three inspired you or you came to that conclusion on your own, at some point the panic of not getting *blank* done will eat you alive. Don't be like me. Don't put off your ten page art history paper until the night before.
5. Is it possible to get coffee through an I.V., stat?
This time of year calls for it.
6. Why do cumulative finals even exist?
It's like they're trying to kill us, or test us or something. Is it too late to become a stripper?
7. Okay, I can do this. I can teach myself this information.
After what feels like a thousand years of freaking out, you'll get a little burst of motivation. Where this motivation comes from is completely up to you. Whether it be from a Hilary Duff song, an episode of "New Girl," or inside a box of Cheez-Its; the world is your freaking oyster. You got dis, girlfriend.
8. No, no, I cannot. My apologies.
The motivation doesn't last very long, but you'll most likely catch your second wind after you freak out a little bit more.
9. Is it socially acceptable to take a nap break in the library?
Naps are important, and what better place than the library? It has everything you need; it has food, bathrooms, and it's even pretty quiet (most of the time).
10. Why do I do this to myself?
As the stress of the semester becomes overwhelming, you'll find yourself questioning if all of this pressure is even worth it. Once the stress fades, you will realize that school is more than just school. It's the experiences you have and the friends you make; those moments are worth just as much as the degree you're working toward. You've been able to get through this time of year before, so chances are you'll be able to get through it again.
