Forty-two days. Six weeks. A month and a half. Whatever way you choose to look at it, this is the amount of time standing between myself and having to go out into the real world.
Although I've never wanted to be a responsible human with actual responsibilities, I've been extra scared as the number of days gets smaller. So here are the 10 thoughts running through my mind when some brings up the terrifying word "graduation."
1. I only have 6 weeks left?!
When did this happen? Are you sure this is correct? I'm pretty sure I just moved in as a freshman five minutes ago!

2. But I don't have a job yet!
I can't go out into the real word without a job yet, right? I'll be a loser. I'll be a failure at life.
3. Here I come, Mom and Dad!
Pros of living with your parents: They take care of you, make you food, wash your clothes, and make all your dentist appointments.
Cons of living with your parents: They try to tell you what to do, since you're living under their roof.
4. What if someone actually mistakes me for an adult?
Are people going to assume that, since I'm a college graduate, I'll have my shit together? Because I do not have my shit together. Are people going to ask me to do adult-like things? Because I am not ready for adult like things, like buying my own insurance.
5. Are my college friends going to forget about me?
These people that have been my support system my whole time here are going to be separated from me. I won't see them all the time. What if they don't miss me like I miss them? Do we have to leave each other?
6. Will people think I'm a loser if I come visit too much?
I have a lot of younger friends! I want to see them and visit all the time! But will people think I'm a loser who needs to get her head out of college?
7. What if my friends from home get their shit together and leave me?
I can see it now, All of my friends are getting jobs, getting married and moving away. And then there's me, chilling with my mom.
8. I'm probably never going to see that boy again.
You know that boy you've had a crush on since sophomore year? Well, guess what? You two finally have a thing senior year, but then bam! You both graduate and move back home, far away from each other.
9. My loans are going to come back and haunt me.
We have six months after graduation to start saving up to pay for student loans. Do you think six months is enough time to save? No, it's not. I've mentally killed myself for four years for this degree, and now I will be killing my bank account for the rest of my life to pay it back.
10. I'm going to miss this place so much.
The bad food, the shitty Internet connection, the boring nights on the boring campus in the boring town, and all the other things I complained about while going to school here will never overpower the amazing memories, friends and family I made here. I don't want to leave the place I grew to love so much.
