I love Christmas just as much as the next person. Okay, that was a complete lie-- I live for Christmas. And I happen to think it is socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music all year, even if everyone around me doesn't seem to agree. In doing so, I also know that I need to secretly listen to Christmas music in order to not face complete embarrassment from my family and friends when they find out that I have, in fact, been jamming out to Michael Bublé and not Khalid.

1. "Are my headphones plugged in? How loud is my volume?"

"If someone walked into this room right now, could they hear anything coming out of these headphones? No? Okay, it's time!"

2. "Is anyone home right now to embarrass me if I take my headphones out?"

"Only the dog? Oh good..."

3. "You know what?! I'm going to do it anyway!"

"Don't be nervous-- JUST DO IT! Let the world know that Christmas is here!"

4. "Do I go straight for Sinatra or maybe Mariah? What about Wham!? Pentatonix?"

"It's Begining to Look A Lot Like Christmas, Jingle Bells, White Christmas! So many choices! So little time!"

5. "Stop pretending-- you know you're going for Bublé."

"To even think of disgracing Michael like that! You should be ashamed!"

6. "YES! It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... In the middle of October."

"Just like Christmas!-- expect it's slightly hotter and there's no chance of snow! But still, just like Christmas!"

7. "Why is my dog looking at me like that?"

Do you think she knows what I'm doing? Is she judging me?! Fine! I can stare back too!

8. "Maybe if I stopped singing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', she'd stop."

"Okay, Mia! I get it-- I don't need you and shifty eyes judging me! Jeez, can you please just stop looking at me like that!? I'll stop if you stop!"

9. "Oh crap! Is that the door?"

Subtly try to act normal, like your family isn't going to judge you super hard when they find out.

10. "Whatever-- if they can't accept that it's Christmas, then I don't need that kind of negativity in my life!"

Christmas is all about spreading positivity and happiness, and if my family can't get on board with it, then I don't know what they're going to do. Because it's October, and the Christmas music is here to stay!

The music is only going to get worse. Stores are already putting out holiday decorations, and soon it'll be Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and then FINALLY, the most wonderful time fo the year is here. I cannot wait, and if you're already listening to Christmas music in October, you probably cannot either.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
