10 Thoughts Everyone Has Before The First Day of College
Huffington Post

We've all worked really hard to get into colleges, and used dreams of parties and tailgates to get us through sleepless high school nights. Now the day we've been waiting for, move in day, is just a week or two away and we couldn't be more excited or scared. Here's just a few thoughts everyone has before the first day of college.

1. Is the freshmen 15 a rumor? Hope it doesn't happen to me!

We've all heard that it's easy to gain weight in college since for the first time in your life, you are deciding everything you eat. Luckily it's also the first time you have a free gym for the first time in your life. Lets make the most of it!

2. I somehow managed to get into this school but I'm scared I'll be the dumbest one there

Still have nightmares about the Common App? You're not alone. But remember-we got into the schools we did for a reason, we wouldn't be here if we weren't smart enough.

3. I can't wait to make new friends but I'm scared I'll miss the old ones

Saying goodbye to high school friends is always a tearful affair. As excited as we are to meet new friends, we're worried about staying in touch with the old. But that's what breaks are for!

4. I'm worried for all the work I'm about to have-but excited to actually pick my classes

With midterms and finals in the same semester, college sounds like a LOT of work. However, since you get to pick your major at least you're struggling through classes that you actually want to take!

5. I've been looking forward to this experience for so long I just hope it meets my expectations.

We've all heard about how amazing college is, the new friends, the football games, the parties. So we might be surprised by the not so fun days like when we have tests or drama with friends. But I have a feeling it'll all be worth it in the end.

6. I hope I get along with people in my dorm

A lot of people's first college friend group is made up of people from their hall or floor so everyone hopes they end up living with fun people!

7. Sharing a communal bathroom does NOT sound fun

Having to buy flip flops for the shower can make you feel like you're heading to prison. But I guess sharing a bathroom is another form of bonding for everyone?

8. Will the dining hall food be edible?

We've all heard that dining hall food can be disgusting-but unlike in high school, you can't just go home to a delicious meal if you don't like what they're serving. Oh well, thats what Insomnia Cookies and pizza places are for.

9. I wonder if I should rush a sorority/fraternity

Some people think sororities are cliquey and fraternities are always hazing but some people think Greek Life is a way to make friends for life. It's up to you!

10. I can't wait for all of the amazing memories I'm about to make

Everyone who talks about college either can't wait to go back or wishes they could go back. There are so many amazing memories ahead we just want to get there already!

As excited as we all are for college, we're just as scared. But I think it will be such an amazing experience and I can't wait to start.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
