College Spring Break is meant for students to recuperate before finishing up the semester. You are supposed to catch up on your sleep and catch up on work. But, honestly, everyone pretty much ends up leaving spring break more exhausted than they were before they went on the trip. The entire process of planning and being on spring break is more stressful than it is relaxing. And as the vacation gets closer and closer, you have to plan it out to make sure you have the best week. These thoughts will run through your head at least once before you go on this trip.
1. "How long has it been since I've been tanning?"
You look in the mirror and realize that there is no way you can go to spring break looking this pale. You would rather pretend to be sick all week than to show people that it looks like you haven't been in the sun your whole life.
2. "How many swim suits should I buy?"
Let's see, do you need a new one for every day you're gonna be on the beach? Or can you get away with three and two old ones. Then you stalk pictures of yourself on Facebook to see how many pictures you have your swim suits.
3. "I need to go to the gym."
Ugh, it has been too long. And let's face it, you have to be in front of a lot of people, without clothes to hide the extra holiday pounds from egg nog.
4. "I should not have eaten that pizza last night."
OK, now you really need to go to the gym. A large pizza and lava cake are not helpful in attaining that beach body that you lost during the winter celebration. Time to actually go to the gym.
5. "I should buy a book to read on the beach."
So you Google, "Good book to read on vacation," or, "Best books to read on the beach." You contemplate if you are even going to read on this trip. Should you even order it?
6. "Ugh, these shorts don't fit me."
Well, if the gym does not fix this problem, then you can always order some non-fitted dresses that do not emphasize any part of your body.
7. "Should I buy margarita mix now or when we get there?"
You have already overpacked, and so you have no idea how packed the car is going to be.
8. "I need to plan who is going to be in the car with me for five hours."
There is nothing worse than being squeezed in the car with people you do not know well.
9. "Get sunscreen."
Enough said.
10. "How many pairs of sandals should I bring?"
There are so many different things you can do on your trip that you have no idea the outfits to pack. So like always, you overpack and bring eight pairs of sandals for a week trip.
Even though Spring Break involves a lot of planning and is stressful to say the least, the week itself is well deserved. And even though it may be one of the most exhausting trips you go on, it is well worth the wait through all semester.
