1. We might not spend a lot of time together, but I still love you
Okay so truth be told, we have different schedules, majors, jobs, friends, dreams, and lives but that doesn’t mean you can’t be in a different spot in my life. You’re nearly always busy, but so am I, but don’t worry, Biggie! You’re still my number one.
2. I never really understood the phrase “as protective as a momma bear.” Thanks to you, now I do
Anytime we go out somewhere, anytime we party and sometimes I drink too much, you always make sure I get home safe. Anytime we hang out with friends; maybe some guy is making me uncomfortable, I know you’ll be right beside me telling him to back off. Anytime someone made me feel less of a person, you’d be in the back corner cracking your knuckles and getting ready for a showdown. Thanks for keeping me safe, Big!
3. Thanks for spoiling me, especially on Big/Little week
Okay no lie, but I have the best Big. You are terrible at arts and crafts, but you worked really hard on every homemade gift. You got me a huge bag of Swedish Fish – I absolutely love Swedish Fish. On thanksgiving, you made me an extra pie because you remembered how much I missed my mom’s sweet potato pie. So yes, although you don’t have a lot, you still spoil me rotten and I’m thankful for it.
4. You strive to embody our values every day, and I strive to be like you everyday
You follow our code and you are the woman I aim to be. In every chapter meeting I look towards you, in every song we sing and every word we speak you’re the one who inspires me to be womanly always, to be discouraged never.
5. We might not have the same interests but that’s totally okay
Like I already mentioned, we lead two different lives, I know other sisters of ours that don’t ever spend time together because they just have no interests but in all honesty, they’re perfectly happy with it. It’s the same with us, you might not be as crazy about "Harry Potter" as I am but that’ll never stop you from being proud of me, which bring me to number 6….
6. You are my biggest cheerleader.
I love how you tell the world about all of my achievements and victories. You’re not afraid to be loud and scream out, “that’s my little!”. I hope to do the same for my future little.
7. Adulting is hard, but you make it fun.
When I am just done with life and ready to hide under the bedspread and never come out, you’re the one who comes underneath with me with mac and cheese. You keep me upbeat and excited for each coming day and I don’t think that’s a gift to be taken lightly.
8. You do way more for me than you think you do
Seriously, Biggie! You need to give yourself more credit!! You got me out of my comfort zone, so I’m not a terrified little chipmunk when I go to a club. You’ve motivated me to do well in school and to study my butt off. You’ve helped me meet so many of my sisters (and my future bridesmaids as well, J)
9. Thanks for making me more womanly
I honestly didn’t know what highlighter was until you came into my life. I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH.
10. Thank you for all the unconditional love, it helps when I don’t feel like loving myself at all.
You know me, Big. You know sometimes I don’t love me, which is ridiculous to you because you love me so much. So, thank you for all the love, even though no one asked you too, even though you didn’t have to, you still love me anyway. I can’t wait to get a little, and love her as much as I love you.
