If you were born in the mid to late 90s...the start of the new millennium was certainly a turn of events.
1. The eternal war of the Disney MMOs
Club Penguin or Toontown Online? Both had their charms, but really, with people so divided on it, there's no real winner here.
(Psst! Toontown is superior!)
2. Seeing one of these in your class for the first time.
While they seem kind of annoying now, back in 2004 (at least, that's when I saw one for the first time), electric sharpeners were the coolest thing on Earth.
3. Gym Scooter and Parachute Days in Gym Class
These were always the best days. Sitting under a rainbow. Yes! Racing or even playing soccer or basketball on tiny squares with wheels? AWESOME!!!
4. The "High School Musical" Craze
As much as I hesitate to mention this one, "High School Musical" was a staple of the time. The songs were heard constantly, and almost every girl's first crush was Troy.
5. When Facebook was Cool
Social media in general was just starting out, and it became a favorite of our generation...at least until parents decided to get in on the action.
6. Pixar Movies!
"Finding Nemo!" "The Incredibles!" "Toy Story!" "Monster's Inc.!" "WALL-E!" Come on, admit it, you held them dear to your heart and still watch them now. (Still waiting for that "Incredibles" sequel...)
7. The Dawn of YouTube
Ah, YouTube. How you changed the internet for the better... and the worse. Yes early cat videos and Fred, I'm looking at you.
8. The Emo Phase
One you hit middle school, it was inevitable. Either you went emo at one point or had a friend who did. If you managed to get out, you hide your middle school yearbooks at all costs.
9. When "Spongebob" was Actually Good
Nowadays, there's just no plot whatsoever, and nothing but the lowest form of comedy. There's a reason the moments from older episodes are now memes.
10. It may have not been the 90s, but deep down, you know it wasn't until the 2010s when everything went downhill
