The first week of school can be both exciting and intimidating. You get to meet all your professors for the first time, see who else is in your class, and basically avoid any school work due to syllabus week. However, I noticed that this all changes junior year. These are 10 things I have finally noticed after being a junior in college:
1. Syllabus week is a lot less fun this year -- mostly because I don't get to partake in it due to copious amounts of actual homework. When did syllabus week become a week you actually have to learn things?
2. Did I seriously just go through an entire box of K-cups in one week?! Coffee is a necessity.
3. Why was that quiz actually hard? It's the first day of school -- quizzes can't be hard. I haven't even learned anything yet. Why do I even have a quiz in the first place?
4. I wish my mom still took me school supply shopping. I could really use more than one notebook and something other than a gel pen I found in my roommate's desk would be nice.
5. Why did they make us buy so many books? I can't take these to class. I can't take these to the library. I can barely lift them off the bookshelf. What happened to posting the readings on ICON? Isn't that still a thing?
6. Is my mom screening my calls now, since I've already called her seven times today in hysterics?? Mom, come back to me, I need someone to hold me and do my laundry and make my bed.
7. When's tailgate? I need tailgate.
8. Aw, freshmen going out for Wine Wednesday? How cute. I remember when I had time for that.
9. Should I be spending my free time doing more than lying in bed watching Netflix? Because I don't think I have the mental capacity for anything else. So, yeah, Netflix it is.
10. Did that professor just say we have an exam already next week? Crap. Why, why, why? Can you cut us some slack, please!
While junior year is already off to a hectic start, this will be one for the books! College is over halfway over; we need to enjoy every minute of it, even the stressful, coffee-filled, sleepless days. Take in every minute and do the best you can do. Don't have regrets on anything your junior year! Good luck, juniors! We can do it!
