Mothers are honestly real-life superheroes. I mean, think about it. They made a human being and they did it so you could have a life. So, here are some reasons you should pick up the phone immediately and thank your mom!
1. She Has Put Up With Your Crap (Literally!)
I make fun of my mom sometimes for not being tech savvy, but to be fair, she potty-trained me. She had to teach me how to use a toilet... Thank your mom for potty-training you! It is something we easily take for granted, but we wouldn't have been able to do without our moms.
2. She Has Been Your #1 Since Day One
Your mom has been there for you since even before you were born. She has been your biggest motivation in life (or at least mine is). I always think to myself, "If she can do it, so can I!" She is always there to listen to you and is ready to provide advice whenever you need it. She is right there for you whenever you achieve things in life (like finally folding your laundry!). No matter what, she is always cheering you on from the sidelines and she will always be there.
3. She Makes the Best Therapist
She knows you better than anyone else on this Earth. I mean, she knew you before anyone else! You can bring anything to her and she will give you advice on it. She has most likely been through something similar in her lifetime and she is willing to help you with advice, finances, or whatever it may be. Talking it out with your mom is the best (and cheapest) therapy there is.
4. You Hear Her Voice Even When She Isn't There
I can hear my mom now as I'm hunched over my computer typing this. "Courtney Elizabeth! You had better sit up straight! Your posture is going to be horrible when you're older!" I'm sure there are similar things that you can hear your mom fussing at you for. I've heard it so much in my life that I usually do those things without thinking about it. Thank your mom for being your voice of reason, even if it is just about your posture!
5. She Will Be Honest With You
I can count on my mom for an honest opinion. Friends can give good opinions, but your mom is your best bet. She will let you down gently if the top you are wearing isn't the most flattering. She will also be honest with you about that hair color you're dying over. I can get an honest opinion from her, but she will still be supportive if I ignore her advice. She might say something like, "I think this would look better, but I'm sure that will be pretty too."
6. She Will Never Let You Go Hungry
This is a given, but it's still really nice. You can count on mom for a home-cooked meal.
7) She is Always Available
Anytime you need her for anything, she's there. It doesn't matter what time of day it is. She will be there for you ready to help.
8. She Has Spent Days and Nights Worrying About You
It doesn't matter if you are a newborn or 22 years old. Your mom still worries about you. My mom will randomly call me just to check on me and see how I'm doing. She has told me that when I was a baby, she would just watch me sleep in my crib because she was worried about me. Thank your mom for caring.
9. She is you Mom
What are the odds that you have the mom that you have? Thank her for being a mom to you and for always being there for you no matter what. She is definitely my biggest supporter.
10. She Loves You No Matter What
She has seen you at your worst and she still loves you! Can you say that for everyone in your life? She didn't leave your side, even when you weren't so lovable. She won't stop loving you until she dies.
She would do it all again, diapers and all, just for you.
