10 Things You Know To Be True If You're A Student At Plymouth State University
Plymouth State University

Hey, Plymouth State Panthers! It's your first week back and I'm sure you're all excited. Whether this is your first year here or not, you chose to come here for reason! I hope you all love campus and are thrilled to be back because I definitely am! I missed Plymouth this summer! For some of you, this place is your home or it at least feels that way. Since it's our first week back into our new routine, I decided to write about the 10 Things You Know To Be True If You're A Student At Plymouth State University.

1. Daily Paws is your savior!

I don't know about you guys, but their bagels are AMAZING! Nothing feels, or tastes better, than snagging breakfast at Daily Paws before/ after your morning class. Something about that coffee/bagel combo that energizes me to start my day like a champ!

2. You have a love/hate relationship with the dining hall!

Ok...maybe it's mostly hate. The food could be worse, even if it does end up making you feel sick from eating there 2-3 meals per day. The staff there is so nice and you can eat as much as you want (kind of a bad thing). Did we ever find out if Sodexo is prison food? I 11/10 recommend their cookies.

3. You enjoy going to hockey games!

Going to the PSU hockey games is one of my favorite things to do on campus! You're showing Panther Pride while having fun! Go with a friend or your family and fun is guaranteed. There's a concession stand too for those mid-game munchies! Students get in free, which is a total bonus because most of us don't have a lot of money to spend #collegestudentstruggle

4. You love the Union Grille!

I'm so thankful that there's another meal option for those times I don't feel like going to the dining hall! Their chicken nuggets are to die for! You can also make healthier choices there too (I love their sushi)! Jeremy is always in a great mood and the atmosphere is very relaxing!

5. You think the library is bomb.com!

I love our library! It's quiet, relaxing...well, it's a library. Besides that, there's nothing better than being by yourself or with a few friends to get your homework done! You've probably had late-night study sessions there or plan on it. Also, the cafe makes Starbucks drinks...YAS #basic.

6. You've made a trip to see IT and they put your life back together!

I couldn't log into my account and they helped me fix my problem in less than a minute. They literally saved my life. Thank you, Gabrielle!

7. You've heard about the new "Plymouth Clowns" and aren't sure how to feel!

If you haven't heard about this yet, go to Facebook and type in "The Plymouth Clowns". I won't include any photos here because it might scare you. Don't worry, they're harmless and friendly! As long as they stay that way, we will be too! Lowkey/ highkey terrified though (:

8. You practically live at the HUB!

Whether you're getting your mail, shopping at the bookstore, working out, or grabbing some food, you're guaranteed to be in there at least once a day, most likely more. It has everything in one place, which is good because I'm lazy.

9. You wonder how the hell they put the pumpkins up on Rounds Tower!

Seriously...nobody knows. If you don't know what I'm talking about (you will hear about it at some point) here's a photo:

Clearly, this is a job done by ghosts (totally possible)

10. You love being able to call PSU your home!

Despite its quirks, you love your school. It's an absolutely stunning campus that takes your breath away! There's nowhere else you would rather be!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
