10 Things To Tell Yourself Every Morning

Because sometimes you just have to build yourself up.

In this day in age, many people tear themselves down because of what they think about themselves and what other people think about them. Sometimes, to try to love who you are, you have to cut the toxic people out of your life, the ones who tell you that you can't do it or tell you that you're not worth it. Here's a list of a couple things you should tell yourself every morning.

1. You are worth it.

No matter what anyone says, you are worth the fight. Don't listen to anyone who's going to tear you down.

2. You are beautiful.

If anyone, and I mean anyone tells you that you're anything less than beautiful, they're wrong.

3. Put yourself first.

Sometimes it's okay to put yourself before others. If you're constantly worrying about making everyone else happy before yourself, you're not going to be happy. It is impossible to make everyone happy, so work on yourself first for once.

4. It's okay to be selfish.

Like I said above, sometimes it's okay to be a little selfish and take care of yourself. If you need a day away from everything, take a day. If you need a vacation, take a vacation. Go eat a meal alone. Spend a little time with just yourself.

5. Everybody has bad days.

Everyone has days where they're not themselves for some reason. While it is not, in any way, okay to take that out on others, it happens. Don't take some things too personally. You are the best at being you and that's all that matters.

6. You're the best you out there.

Nobody's better at being you than you are. Don't let someone take that from you. Be true to yourself, because you are great.

7. Relax.

Take some time to just sit and relax. Listen to some music. Watch some netflix (just not greys anatomy because that's not relaxing).

8. Look at puppy pictures.

If you're anything like me, you might love dogs. Take some time to spend with a dog, or if that's not possible just look at some puppy pictures. They're really cute and I'm sure something will put a smile on your face.

9. Smile.

You have a beautiful smile. Show it to the world.

10. Don't care what people think.

It doesn't matter what people think of you. All that matters is what you think of you.

Take care of yourself for once.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
