I honestly feel like I go to the best college in the world. As summer is approaching, I have come to the realization that I don't really want to leave. UC Santa Barbara is the best home away from home I could have asked for. It has given me such an amazing experience that I am actually going to dread leaving when we have to leave for summer because I am going to miss so many things.
1. The instant access to the beach and the never ending amount of breathtaking sunsets.
When your backyard is the beach, it becomes very difficult to top this view every night back home.
2. The constant availability of burritos and Mexican food (especially Freebirds).
Although it will be much easier to fight off the "freshman 15," Freebirds nachos will definitely be missed.
3. The never ending social scene.
There is never a dull moment at UC Santa Barbara, especially during the weekends. Whether it's through fun events on campus or parties, there's always plenty of exciting activities to partake in with your friends.
4. Living with my your best friends.
It is so nice not having to drive anywhere just to hang out with your best friends since they live down the hall or across the street.
5. Independence.
It's going to be hard to adapt to being able to do essentially whatever you want whenever you want to living back under your parents' roof.
6. The amazing concerts and community activities.
There's nothing quite like getting to be front row at Extravaganza or Snoop Dogg with all of your friends for free or for a mere price of five dollars.
7. All of your out-of-state friends.
The realization has hit that we are going to be separated for over a week. I honestly don't know what I am going to do without having my friends within a couple hours away from me for three whole months.8. SB Menus delivering to straight to your door.
Who is going to be there to cater to my laziness over the summer?
9. Being able to bike anywhere you need to go.
Screw driving in traffic. This has not been missed.
10. The amazing weather.
No one can really complain when it's sunny and 75 degrees most of the year.
