College is obviously great. Better than great, actually. The best four years of your life. However after nine tedious months of college level classes, eventually it's normal to want a break. And, that's where summer comes in.
These are the top 10 things to love about summer, although there's definitely more on the list.
1. Seeing your family.
Sure, weekly phone calls are nice and all but nothing beats the comfort of your own home, bed, and family members.
2. Home cooked meals.
Oh god, how many times do you think you had Taco Bell and In-N-Out this year alone? Way too many.
3. Going shopping with your mom.
Thank god after all the dryer shrinking, mishaps and the mysterious disappearance of socks in the washing machine. Let's be honest, no matter how old you are you always need your mom.
4. Hanging out with your old friends.
You missed them, don't lie.
5. Visiting your college friends.
Inevitably, some of your college friends will live close enough that you can road trip to see each other or even fly if you have to. I mean three months apart is obviously too long.
6. Getting to catch up on sleep.
The first few days after you arrive home, you spend a majority of your day in bed. You can blame your lack of sleep on finals, but that's not the first time we've heard that excuse. It's OK, though.
7. Landing a cool internship or job.
While these might not seem like the most fun way to spend your warm summer days, they set up your future and that's why you're even attending college in the first place.
8. Working out at your gym back home.
AKA you don't have to see every single person you know. And, you don't have to walk to the gym either. Bonus.
9. Eating at all your favorite old places.
And this time, you don't have to be the one to pay. Thanks, mom and dad!
10. Finally, not having to be in school, duh.
Pretty self-explanatory.
