10 Things to Look Forward to in the New Year
1. New school year- Whether you’re a Freshman in college or a Junior, the upcoming year is coming, and it’s something to get excited about. Senioritis comes fast, sometimes as early as sophomore year. Isn't it funny we catch ourselves still asking others, “What do you want to be when you’re grown up?” yet we’re adults in college?
2. Resolutions. They sound basic, but it’s the way you approach it that matters. A New Year’s Resolution doesn’t mean you’re going to be a new you, it means you’re going to leave the bad that happened in the past year in the past year. The new year will be better, and our goals for the upcoming year will be fulfilled.
3. Summer break. If getting yourself through second semester of college is rough, remember there’s a lot to look forward to, summer break definitely being one of them.
4. Falling in love. No one’s promising it’s going to happen, but falling in love can most definitely happen. The best part about falling in love is even if you feel as if you’re not in any position to be doing so, life can get in the way in the most positive way.
5. Learning more about yourself.
6. Spring cleaning. Get rid of your ex’s stuff. Unfollowing the girl or guy who broke your heart isn’t childish. It’s very much necessary. Move on from his favorite jacket, her favorite teddy bear she left at your house, and remember that the people who needed you would’ve kept you in their life and vice-versa.
7. 45th President. Whether you support Donald Trump or not, America is continuing to move forward, and it’s an amazing reminder that we’re so proud to be citizens of a free country.
8. New music to come. I guess this is an every-year thing, so it isn’t new, but do you ever actually think about it? Think now, and get excited.
9. With new, better music, comes concerts and festivals.
10. Recruitment and/or joining an organization. If you aren’t involved in Greek life, there are so many clubs and organizations on and off campus that students can join. It’s a fun time.
