Summer is a time of long lazy days and warm nights spent with your friends around a fire pit. It always seems to go way too fast and we’re often left feeling like we didn’t get the MOST out of our summers. Here’s a guide of things to do before the summer days end!
1. Spend some time in the sun!
There’s a limited amount of time to get a tan, and everyone knows you just feel better when you’re tanned. So get out there and catch some rays before the summer ends, but don’t forget your sunscreen!
2. Read some books.
You never have free time like you do in the summer, and now is the perfect time to catch up on all of those books you’ve been meaning to get around to.
3. Binge watch guilt free.
You can binge watch all of your favorite Netflix shows without the guilt of neglecting your schoolwork, laundry, and all of the other things you need to do on the daily while at school. Finally, some time to actually enjoy your shows.
4. Go to the beach.
I grew up in a beach town so I’m a little biased, but no summer is complete without a trip to the beach. There’s nothing quite like sand between your toes and salty hair after a day spent on the beach.
5. See the sunrise.
There’s nothing quite as beautiful as watching the sunrise, and the end of the summer is the best time to do it, when it’s hot all day long, even in the wee hours of the morning so you’re not freezing your butt off waiting for that ball of fire to rise high in the sky.
6. Catch up on some sleep.
There’s no doubt you’ll be exhausted after rising before dawn to see the sunrise. But you’re probably just tired. Because for some reason as a college student, you’re always tired. So make sure you’re taking care of yourself and catch up on some sleep before the days of being able to sleep in are over.
7. Learn something new.
The summer days may be dwindling down, but there’s still time to learn something new. Whether it’s learning how to sew or learning how to surf, take advantage of your free time and try out some new skills.
8. Make some money.
Of course, a huge part of everyone’s summer is working constantly. When you’re not working, your friends are, and when your friends are off, you’re about to go in. The struggle is real but the struggle of being broke is more real.
9. Watch those summer movies.
The Sandlot, The Notebook, and The Parent Trap are just a few that come to mind.
10. Get organized.
As much of a bummer as it is, it’s time to face the facts: school is starting soon. It’s time to pack up, buy new school supplies and buy all those cute little things to keep your dorm/apartment organized.
These long summer days will inevitably come to an end, so it’s important to make the most of it while it still lasts.
