Writer's Block: it happens to all of us at one point or another. Whether you are sitting down to write an essay for your Composition 1 class, or you write for Odyssey and, for the life of you, you can not think of ANYTHING to write about: it happens. The thing is, if you're anything like me, you also have no clue what to do while you are thinking of what to write about. Fear no more, below you will find 10 attention grabbing things to do while you experience writer's block that may or may not help you find a topic.

1. Learn to Knit

Knitting is not just for your grandma anymore! Got writers block? Make yourself a nice Hogwarts house scarf or a lovely pair of mittens. Knitting can take years of practice and you will probably never get to writing that paper you were supposed to write, but hey, at least you'll be warm!

2. Bake a Cake

Cake is delicious. You don't even need to have writer's block to back and enjoy one. If baking a cake is a tall order for you, simply go out and buy one! Perhaps the taste of the cake will inspire your writing.

3. Master Kung Fu

One is never to old to learn new tricks. Next time you have writer's block, simply log onto YouTube or find a local Kung Fu master that will take you on as an apprentice and master the skill.

4. Defeat Voldemort

So, given that Harry Potter has already defeated Voldemort, you may have to build a time machine in order to go back and fight him. Seriously, what paper can be so important that you could just let Voldemort wander around killing people.

5. Go Buy a Cat

Cats love people. And people love cats. Plus cats are hugely independent, so you can just sit there and watch them instead of writing whatever it is that you needed to write.

6. Challenge Someone to a Pokemon Battle

Break out your Pokémon Cards again and challenge your closest friend to a battle. It might take you a few hours or day to brush up on the rules, so make sure that you take your time. Once you have defeated your opponent, work on collecting all Pokémon (there are over 1,000 now, right?).

7. Build an Ark

Who doesn't need an ark? You never know when the earth is going to flood and you need a quick getaway. I suggest using a material besides wood this time around though.

8. Dig a Hole to China

Have you ever dreamt of a nice vacation to China? Is airfare too expensive? Consider taking a shovel out of your garage and start digging! Mind, you will need to find a way to dig through or around the earth's core without killing the planet, or yourself.

9. Talk to a Wall

Talking to other people is nice on occasions, but walls rarely talk back and grow tired of you. The only trick to this would be to teach the wall how to respond to all of your questions.

10. Find the Droids That You Are Looking For

Tired of hearing "These are not the droids that you are looking for"? Go on your own guest to find the right droids and hold onto them. That way, no one will ever say that nasty phrase again.

And there you have it! 10 awesome things that you can do while you have writer's block. And hey, when you're finished, you might have an idea for a really cool paper.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
