10 Things to do this Summer around Bucks County

I think I can say I speak for mostly everyone when I say I'm finally glad winter is behind us. So put away the coats and the UGGS and bring out the shorts and flip flops, because the warm days are finally here. Speaking for most of the people who live up North I can say that winter here isn't what it is down South, and that a light jacket won't do it for the winter. So finally, when all the snow is gone there's a few more things that we can now plan for the summer ahead, things that you haven't thought of doing for months because it was just too darn cold. Even if you don't reside in Bucks County, like I do, you could still use some of these ideas to plan a great summer with your friends, boyfriends and girlfriends, and family; you can even bring along your dogs. Although some are not directly in Bucks county, they are still not a far ride for Ten great things that you can now add to your Summer Bucket List:

1. Six flags Great Adventure

A place where me and all of my friends went at least five times a summer and spent the day there until the doors were closed. For me an hour long car ride is totally worth it and with 4 friends stuck in a car doesn't sound that bad to me (as long as we are all in good moods).

2. Spend a Day at the New Jersey Shore

One of my favorite places to spend the summer is definitely the shore. Whether its walking down ocean city boardwalk or just laying on the beach. I especially recommend going down there on fourth of July, where every summer they have fireworks right over the water that are absolutely beautiful.

3. Peddlers Village

Maybe the winter light show is gone by now, but the town is still alive and it's a beautiful place to just walk around in and take Instagram worthy pictures.

4. Spend the night at Spruce Street Harbor Park

This idea could even turn into a day trip to center city, where at the end you just end it here and lay on hammocks under trees full of lights. Just keep in mind that this place does get busy and its sometimes hard to find a spot on the hammocks, but it is still a really nice place to hang out at after sundown.

5. Delsea Drive in Movies

I came here last summer with my boyfriend and it was a great experience, you just sit in the trunk of the car or bring lawn chairs with you and just tune your radio to the station they tell you and spend two hours under the stars watching a movie on a big screen. You can go on their website to find out the movies and the times, pack a couple blankets and be on your way!

6. Go canoeing in Core Creek Park

If you live anywhere near Core Creek Park you know the boat rentals that they do for so cheap you can't miss out on it. You can rent anything from a Kayak to a Canoe and give it back after spending an hour exploring the Lake. I will put this out there though, do not bring your phones into the boat or you might end up like me and drop your iPhone somewhere in the middle of the lake, other than that, I had a great time.

7. Go hiking at the Ringing Rocks

If you are into hiking, this would be a great trip for you, although this is a little further it is definitely worth the ride if you are looking to spend a day hiking and exploring the magical sounds of these rocks.

8. Magic Gardens in Philly

I have yet to go here but I am definitely planning on going this summer. But from what I've heard its a magical little place hidden in Philly in which you can walk around in and escape the outside world.

9. Goto a Phillies Game

For those sports fans who would rather spend the day at a stadium, I know that they have plenty of specials and discounts on tickets during the late and early summer, and even student specials as low as 15 dollars a ticket.

10. Have a picnic

This is honestly just a cute idea for any park or place near you where you can just set out a picnic blanket and bring homemade sandwiches and fruit to enjoy on a nice summery day. If making food isn't your thing, there's always a Wawa around the corner that will make it for you.

I hope that everyone got a couple of extra ideas for their summer bucket list because I know I did from writing this. Even if some of these are too far away for you, you can adjust and tweek them just a little bit to make your summer easier and more fun!

Have a great and warm summer everyone!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
