It's a well-known fact that Austin, Texas, is known for its music. Festivals like Austin City Limits, South by Southwest, Fun Fun Fun Fes, and more go on each year along with hundreds of concerts and performances at places like Stubbs, Emo's and, of course, the Frank Erwin Center. However, when the festivals and concerts aren't going on, there is still plenty to do in this wonderful city. For those of you who haven't been to Austin before or aren't aware of all of the amazing things this awesome city holds or even if you are from the 512 area and just are looking for something to do this summer, here are 10 different things you can do in Austin.
1. Frank Erwin Center
Of course, there are hundreds of concerts that take place here. This summer, Drake and Future will be taking the stage at the Frank Erwin Center. However, other events go on here too like sports and other shows.
2. Spider House Cafe and Ballroom

3. Barton Springs

4. Food Trucks
There are food trucks on almost every corner of Austin and they're all amazing. There is literally a food truck for every type of food your heart could want and desire.
5. Austin Food in General
Let's be honest, if there wasn't the music, Austin would probably next be known for its food. Magnolia Cafe, Shady Grove, Home Slice, Franklin Barbecue, the list could go on and on.
6. 6th Street
Oh 6th Street. Another crown jewel of Austin. Every weekend, people pack the street and bars to drink and be merry to their bodies content. It's definitely an experience that everyone should encounter. Just be prepared for the craziness that is 6th Street.
7. Bob Bullock Museum/Capital Building
For a more educational Austin experience, there are places like the Bob Bullock Museum and the Capital Building that people can go and learn more about history in Texas.
8. Paddle Board or Canoe Lady Bird Lake

9. Take Cliche Pictures in Popular Austin Locations.
10. Blues on the Green
Definitely another one of my favorite events that goes on in Austin. For the past 26 years, every summer, Zilker Park has been the home for the largest free concert series in Austin. Hundreds of people fill up Zilker once a month to hang out with friends, family and dogs to listen to some great music.
