10 Things I Think About While Driving

Am I the only one who thinks like this?

I think it is safe to say that we all think about some questionable things from time to time while we are driving, so here are just 10 of the many things I notice I think about while I am en route somewhere.

1. “Why are you not even going the speed limit?”

Pretty self-explanatory, but don't you just hate when you are stuck behind someone and they are going so slow and then they go even slower when you start getting closer to them? Ugh! At least be courteous and go the speed limit, thank you very much.

2. "I wonder if people can see me singing to myself?"

Now, if you don't belt out a song or two while you are driving, then you are just lying to yourself and missing out, quite honestly. Rocking out to music while driving is one of my favorite things, but somehow I forget that people are probably looking at me thinking I am crazy. Even if they are, who cares! I enjoy it, so let them think what they want!

3. “Why doesn’t anyone know how to drive?”

This is especially true when snowbirds are in town and when they have absolutely no idea where they are even going. I probably ask myself this question multiple times a day and still have no definitive answer, sadly. Maybe one day I will figure out the magical answer.

4. "Should I get gas now?”

Okay, probably not such a good thing to think about while I am in the process of driving somewhere, but it happens. Sometimes I just forget to check my gas gauge and then when I finally do, it usually is not a pretty sight. Yes, I am one of those people that will try to put off getting gas until the very last minute, whoops!

5. "Do I have everything I need?"

If you never ask yourself this while you are driving, then I must be the only weird one here. I will go through a mental check-list of everything that I should have with me just to be extra cautious because you never know what could happen, dude.

6. "Am I going the right way?”

This only happens when I am unfamiliar with where I am going, or if I am going somewhere for the first time. Of course, I utilize my handy-dandy maps on my phone, but we all know how unreliable those can be sometimes, am I right?

7. "Why are you staring at me?”

Maybe it is just because of the kind of car I drive, but I find people constantly staring at me while I am driving, for absolutely no reason and they make it so noticeable. It is actually quite amusing, but also extremely irritating at the same time. Focus on the road, please!

8. "Thank God for tinted windows!"

Let's just say sometimes I get a little rowdy when I am driving and have a tendency to let my road rage let loose, so having tinted windows saves my butt from time to time from getting myself into trouble, I am sure of that!

9. "I should probably wash my car."

Unfortunately, I don't take as much care of my car as I should, so sometimes it can get pretty dirty. I have a white car too, so it is very noticeable and I always feel guilty about it.

10. "Am I speeding? I should probably slow down."

Sometimes I get lost in my own thoughts while I am driving and never realize how fast I am going. Sometimes I am that lazy and just don't take the time to actually look at my speedometer, but then when I do, I realize I probably should slow down just a little bit, LOL.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
