Your first semester of college is full of new experiences and gained lessons. You'll live on your own for the first time, eat at a dining hall, and be put into an environment filled with almost all people you've never met before. And while all those things happen, there's a lot that you experience during your freshman year that no one really tells you about.
1. You'll forget when the last time you properly groomed your hair was
But a ponytail compliments the leggings you seem to end up wearing everyday.
2. You'll sacrifice healthiness for convenience
It's hard to manage schoolwork, sleep, a social life, and healthy eating.
3. You'll FaceTime a lot
There's nothing better than a video chat when you're homesick.
4. You'll figure out when the laundry room is the emptiest
Never, ever on Sundays.
5. You'll realize you aren't the smartest kid on campus anymore
Because everyone on campus was at the top of their class at one time.
6. You'll make sure to avoid morning classes in future class schedules at all costs
And wonder why you thought you'd be able to go to class at 8 a.m.
7. You'll discover that your friends at home are actually really great
While you're meeting new people and making new friends, you'll wonder whether these people will ever get you like the people you grew up beside.
8. You'll learn which classes require extensive notes and which ones require a skim
And maybe a few that might just need a glance at the sub-titles.
9. You'll realize that naps are essential to survival
A 50-minute break between classes. Perfect.
10. You'll miss home
While your first semester is full of new and exciting things, sometimes you'll miss being in your bedroom back home.
