We all have that one special person in our life that we couldn't ever imagine parting with. That one person you want to share every detail of your life with. That one person who has been there for every big moment: your best friend. Life is busy and stressful and it's hard. It's easy to forget, sometimes, to stop and be thankful for all of the blessings we've been given. So now is the time to stop and thank your best friend for everything they do:

1. For being there for the good times...

Thank you for always indulging in last-minute dinner plans, midnight movies, endless shopping, singing in the car, dancing around the room like Christina Yang and Meredith Grey whenever possible and never passing up an opportunity to get glammed up and go out. You are the biggest ball of fun I know.

2. ...and the bad

Not only do you know how to have a good time, you know when to be serious. You know how to take care of me when I'm sick. You know how to make me feel better when boys hurt my feelings. You know all the right things to do and say to fix my bad moods. So, thanks for that. I'd probably lose my mind without you.

3. For being a shoulder to cry on

Being comfortable enough with someone to allow them to see you at your lowest moments is a very rare and precious thing. Thank you for letting me cry to you (literally and figuratively via text as well) and for always picking me up when I get knocked down.

4. For always looking out for me

Sometimes I get so hyper-focused on something, I forget to look ahead of me. Thank you for thinking for me when I need it, and making sure I don't make too many stupid decisions. And thank you for helping me anyways even when I ignore your advice sometimes and do stupid things. I know you'll always be my biggest supporter.

5. For keeping it real with me

Thank you for giving me tough love when I need it. You're not afraid to tell me that my outfit is too much, or that my eyeshadow just isn't working. I know you just want what's best for me, and you're not afraid to attack problems head on and make sure I know what's up.

6. For sharing your clothes, makeup, and shoes (plus your life) with me

I love going shopping and being able to say "oh she already has this I'll just borrow it from her". Thanks for letting me raid your closet and your makeup collection any time I want; you're the real MVP.

7. For always reminding me that I'm loved

Waking up to random texts from you reminding me of how much I mean to you makes me feel so happy. It's so much better than lame good morning messages from boys. You never fail to remind me that I'm loved and appreciated (and so are you, of course).

8. For surprising me

Thank you for coming into work when I'm sad with my favorite candy. Thank you for knowing when I need to be cheered up and never hesitating to make me feel better with all the little gestures you do that mean so much to me.

9. For knowing me better than I know myself

Sometimes you know why I'm upset before I even realize it myself. You remember every little thing about me. You have my order memorized for all of my favorite restaurants. You remember details of my life better than I do half the time. I mean, we basically share a brain at this point.

10. And most importantly... thanks for being you

Thank you for being my beautiful, loud, weirdo, perfect best friend. I wouldn't change anything about you or our friendship, and I wouldn't want to ever face life without you. I love you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
