Remember all those times when you rolled your eyes at your mom for making you do something? Turns out her reminders were actually useful and taken for granted most of the time. Entering college is foreign because it's the first step to being on your own. All responsibilities, small and large, are now strictly on you. You don't have your mom telling you what to do anymore and I guarantee that you will start to miss it. Here are a few basic reminders that you need to get you through college without your mom constantly reminding you. Thank you, Mom.
1. Needing to put sunscreen on.
It's the true struggle between wanting to have a nice golden brown tan, but not wanting to turn into a lobster.
2. Saying no to hanging out with friends.
You never want to be the only one at home seeing your friends blow up Snapchat with all the fun they're having while you are stuck at home doing homework or studying for midterms.
3. Going to class, well waking up at least
At home, you have your alarm clocks and your mom coming into your room making sure you didn't fall asleep again. In college all you have are your alarms and motivation to not miss class.
4. Running errands to make sure you have your basic needs.
That moment you dread when you use the last of your shampoo and conditioner.
5. Making your bed and cleaning your room.
The most tedious chore, but at least your room looks nice when people come over.
6. Doing laundry when necessary.
You know it's time when you run out of pants.
7. Drinking water and eating healthy.
It's just so tempting to eat junk food all day and drink anything, but water.
8. Scheduling your own doctors appointments.
Constantly reminding yourself that you will call tomorrow, but it never happens.
9. Going to bed at a decent time.
Wanting to stay up because you're out with friends having fun, but you know you have to wake up at 6am for work.
10. Taking the trash out.
When you try to fit as many things as you can in the trash before it starts spilling over.
