Starting college with an undeclared major is growing more and more common; but that doesn’t make it any less stressful. Though, there are people who have known what they want to do with their lives since the age of five, this list is for those of us who still, may be lost. If you haven’t experienced everything below, worry not, because you will.
PS: Don’t stress too much about picking your major. Things always fall into place. Just because you aren’t passionate about anything now, doesn’t mean you’ll feel the same in a few months.
1. The assortment of random Gen. Eds. that never have anything to do with one another.
2. The constant lack of motivation because it feels like you’re not working toward anything.
3. Pressure from your parents to pick what you want to do for the rest of your life.
4. Finding a major you think you’ll like, but being too scared to declare it.
5. The feeling of not being able to complain about “how hard” your classes are, because they're only Gen. Eds.
6. Not being able to figure out what you’re passionate about.
7. Adults constantly telling you, “Oh, don’t worry, You’ve got plenty of time to figure out what you want to do!"
8. The guilt of spending so much money on school and not even knowing what you’re going to do while you're there.
9. Answering the dreaded, “What’s your major?” question at parties.
10. Knowing that you’re not the only one who hasn’t picked a major or a path in life; and that if you work hard, sooner or later you will find something that you love.
