Just a list of random things that would be cool to have at Lee U.

Lee University

Lee University is an excellent school. The campus is beautiful, the people are incredible, and Paul Conn is the greatest president ever. While I absolutely love Lee University and everything about it, there are a few things that I think could make the school even more wonderful.

1. Coffee in the Comm Arts Building ... all day long

Now, I understand that Sandella's has coffee, but they don't open until around 11 a.m. Truth is, Comm majors, especially, need coffee to function. It is what makes us so productive and creative. Therefore, we need it to be available from the time classes begin in the morning until Campus Security locks up the building at night. As a matter of fact, it would be nice to have a snack machine in there as well ... just saying.

2. Puppy Mondays

I love when Epsilon brings in puppies during exam week, but it would be great to have puppies on campus weekly. Wouldn't you just love to walk out of class and see puppies every single Monday, since Monday is the roughest day of the week? It would be absolutely glorious!

3. Panera Bread in the Nursing Building

Panera is bae, but they sadly don't deliver. How can we fix this problem? By having a Panera on campus! Plus, it would be nice to have something in addition to Sandella's on that side of campus. If we can't get Panera, having a Dos Bros would be pretty great too.

4. S'more days

I'm in my third year at Lee and I still haven't roasted a marshmallow over the eternal flame! It is on my bucket list to do so, but it is prohibited. I vote that Paul Conn allow us one night a semester during finals week to have one giant s'mores party by the flame! Please, Paul Conn!

5. Dorm ice machines

We just do.

6. Cinema nights

If you haven't visited the screening room in the CAB, then you need to fix that now! Watching movies in that room is probably one of my favorite things to do. Sadly, I know that a lot of students haven't gotten to experience the screening room, because they are not digital media students. It is time we do something about that. I think that Lee should have $1 movie Thursdays so that everyone can experience the greatness! For just a buck, a student could relax and watch a phenomenal film in the state-of-the-art screening room. I would totally go all the time!

7. Parking garage

Ya know, a parking garage would solve so many parking issues.

8. Campus bus schedule

I love the campus bus system, but it is so difficult to catch. I feel like I'm playing Where's Waldo with the bus every time I get out of class. A bus stop schedule would make things so much simpler.

9. Chapel music days

Once a month we should have a day where both Dixon and Conn Center Chapel are led by one of Lee's incredible music or drama groups. I love Convocation because I get the opportunity to see my peers lead chapel. I would cry tears of joy if this could happen more regularly!

10. Paul Conn bobblehead

I know Dr. Conn said they were all gone, but still! All I want is a Paul Conn bobblehead. Everyone should receive one along with their Bible and diploma. It just seems right.

Well, that's all I've got for you this time. Please feel free to post additional needs in the comments section!

It's great to be a Lee Flame!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
