My first semester in college has been arduous to say the absolute least. But at least I can safely say that now I can pass on some semi helpful knowledge.
1. Sleep is NOT for the weak
Falling asleep during your lectures, that's what's for the weak.
2. The art of the 'all-nighter'
There will come a time, if not several, that you will witness the sunrise out your dorm room window and realize that your 8am starts in two hours
3. Exactly how late you can sleep in while still making it to your 8 am
7:20? 7:30? ....7:50???
4. Try to avoid 8 am classes next semester
literally, avoid at all costs
5. Bad grades can and will occur, but it's not the end of the world
Just take a deep breath and remember that you can always do better next time.
6. The laundry room is not a safe place
Seriously, people are ruthless, don't leave your laundry unattended or it might be the last time you see it.
7. Just because attendance doesn't affect your grade doesn't mean attendance doesn't affect your grade
Just because your professor doesn't take roll call for a grade, that doesn't mean that you never come back. Fun fact: being present for lectures is the most effective learning method in college. Even though it will be tough sometimes
8. You will meet your lifelong friends
They will come out of nowhere, but they will be around for a looong time
9. You will meet people you think will be your lifelong friends, but you will actually never see them again
Once you leave this party, your new bff will probably never be spotted again
10. Everything costs money
EVERYTHING.
