By the time this article is published, I will have already moved into my college. Crazy, I KNOW!
I wonder what I will be feeling. My last week in my hometown...woah. I believe I made the most of my time. Here's what I did my last week at home.
1. Said goodbye to my high school
It was weird going back to my high school. I saw all the students and teachers that I once saw every day. I was lucky enough that my high school was also my elementary and middle school. 12 years of driving to the same place every day. I will surely miss it.
2. Visited my favorite places to eat
If you're ever in Merritt Island, Florida please visit the following places: Oasis Shaved Ice, Surfinista Cafe and Debbie's Diner. These places have the kindest owners and the best food. I filled my week with eating at these places one last time (until I visit again next weekend).
3. Had a friend group reunion
Like I said, I've been at the same school for my entire life. I have a few friends that I've known since birth. We're all going to different colleges, so we had one last reunion. Surely we'll be friends forever, but for now, we'll be separated. Everyone has friends like that, don't they? Try your hardest to keep in touch with them.
4. Took my grandma to lunch
Grandmas are the best. Take your grandma out, she deserves it.
5. THEME PARKS
I visited all the theme parks I could this summer. One last trip to Universal Orlando with my friends was one I'll never forget. Of course, I'll still be able to visit all the theme parks, but not with my high school friends.
6. Held my dog, a lot.
I am going to miss my dog so much. He is an adorable Chihuahua who loves to be held. I have barely set him down all week, and I think he might be getting tired of me.
7. Restarted my favorite Netflix series
There's a sense of calmness I get when I watch my favorite Netflix series, "Parks and Recreation." It is and always will be hilarious, don't fight me on this.
8. Looked through my old yearbook and Instagram photos
Memories, memories. Instagram feeds are personal history books. Remember to document your new life at college so you can look back at it some day.
9. Thanked my parents
This one is obvious. They have done everything for me and continue to provide for me. Everyone should be grateful for their parents. Go thank them right now!!
10. Avoided the thoughts of moving away
I am an avoider. If I avoid the thought, the event isn't as scary. Try it sometime.
My last week at home was memorable to say the least. If you only take one thing away from this, please remember to thank your parents. Without them, where would we all be?
