10 Things I'm Good At That Won't Help Me Get A Job

As a college student, I am constantly searching for internships, part-time jobs to get me by and careers for when that dreaded day comes that I'm finally kicked out into the real world. I must say I have a pretty decent resume at this point in time. However, I almost feel like it could be even better should I choose to add a few of my "special" qualities to my list of skills. Everyone has that perfect niche that sets them apart from other candidates during the hiring process, so why not add a few of the skills below to my resume to set myself apart from my competition?

1. Name That Tune.

Similar to Google, I have a pretty large directory of song lyrics and melodies buried in the back of my mind.

2. Speaking in Pig Latin.

Ore Ma Mpressive Ia Han Ta Peaking Sa Panish Sa, M Aa I Ight Ra?! (Google For Translation)

3. Making A Bridge With A Deck of Cards.

This might be the only physical display of talent I will ever be able to show anyone, so I will forever continue bragging about this one.

4. Reciting Movies Quotes.

Sure, they are all usually from movies that no one but my friends and I have ever heard of but it's still hilarious to us, okay? You can't sit with us!

5. Directions.

I can drive somewhere just once and remember it the next without a GPS or handheld map. I get this one from my Daddy.

6. Beer Pong.

"SWISH" is all I have to say about this one. (Also, I'm pretty good at drinking beer)

7. Knowing Everything There Is To Know About The Kardashians/Jenners.

If you ever have any questions regarding the lives of Kris, Caitlyn, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob, Kendall, Kylie, Kanye, North, Saint, Scott, Mason, Penelope or Reign, shoot me a message.

8. Laying In Bed All Day Without Getting Bed Sores.

As I was looking for inspiration for this list, my roommate piped up with this skill that I seem to have and I can't say I disagree with her. I've mastered the art of watching full seasons of shows on Netflix and not having to move from my bed for hours upon hours.

9. Making The Perfect Playlist For Whatever Occasion.

Whether it be for a party, my morning run, my shower or my long drives back to school from my hometown, I'm always able to find the perfect mood music.

10. Tubing On The Lake.

I pride myself on being a good tuber considering its the closest thing to bull-riding that a water sport can come to. I can stay on for a whole minute without flipping off!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
