Finals Week is one of the most unanticipated seven days for most, if not all, college students. And through all the stress and misery as we go through, almost everyone has experienced at least one of these traits that occur to college students during Finals Week.
Calculating your GPA.
A few weeks before finals, some of us begin to freak out that we might not pass a class or get the grade we wanted. Therefore, we begin to use the GPA calculator and figure out the lowest score we can get on the final to pass or get a minimal grade that we consider as decent. This should be stopped because when you set your goal at a minimum, it typically leads to you achieving the minimum. This does not also mean that you can set unobtainable goals. Be realistic, but do not limit yourself!
Having a mini meltdown.
After calculating our GPA or just realizing that finals are coming, some might begin to freak out and contemplate how their future will be. Some will start to think of how will they get into medical, graduate or pharmacy school. Then to know that there might be a chance that that dream might not occur freaks us out. Well, stop. Stay focus on what you have to do at the moment. Work hard. Do not get distracted.
Procrastination at its best.
Finals week makes some college students wondering as to why they chose to put everything off. Finals week is also the time for some of us to cram everything we have learned from the first day. This is where all the all-nighters occur or when caffeine runs the body system. Instead of trying to understand everything in the last minute, try to space things out a little day by day so you would not have to try to remember all the information within a few days.
Wearing sweats and no makeup is acceptable.
Not many people put too much thought into what they wear or how they look during Finals Week. Heck, some people even camp out in the library. Talk about morning breath! This is also the time where wearing sweat pants and shirts is a trend. I mean, it is so comfortable and easy to pull off.
What are showers?
Speaking of not caring about looks or hygiene, this is somewhat gross, but some people put off showering. Although it is scientifically accepted that one need not shower every single day, it is still nice to be able to sit next to someone who does not smell weird during finals.
Food can wait.
For some college students, they seem to barely find the time to eat during the intense week because every minute wasted into eating is a minute away from getting that extra point on the test. It is good to be productive, but it is also good to learn to take care of your body and provide it with the necessary energy.
Food is our best friend.
Then for some college students, food has became their best friends. Stress eating is something is that commonly seen when people are feeling under pressure. Just remember to slow down on the sweets and salty foods!
Netflix is such a bittersweet thing.
Some of us might go through a whole quarter without having watched watching anything, but BAM! comes Finals Week, and we find this TV series that is so good that we begin to watch Netflix instead of studiously concentrate on what we need to review.
"Oh well."
Then comes that time of the day when you have to enter battle with that exam, and you realize that there is not much left that you can do so you just have the thoughts, "Oh well! I tried to study," or "Oh well, whatever happens happens."
The victory feeling.
No matter how well or bad you feel you did on the exams, the feeling you get as you walk out of that last one is the best. It is the feeling of freedom, of victory, of a million bricks off your back.
Finals Week can be scary, stressful, but keep it up! Study hard. We all can do it!
