I've recently become fascinated by zodiac signs and how accurate they can be in describing people's character traits. My zodiac sign is Cancer, which ranges from June 21-July 22. Whether you think it's a hoax or not, here are 10 characteristics of cancers that I believe to be spot on.

1. Our family is everything to us.

Cancers are very family oriented. Many times, they'd choose a night with their family rather than a night out with their friends.

2. Home is where we are most comfortable.

Home is a space where cancers can let go of the stress from the day and truly relax. If we go out, it better be worth it.

3. Our moods can change at the drop of a hat.

One minute we can be smiling and laughing but the next we can't stand people. It's just something you have to deal with when being around a cancer.

4. We are very sentimental.

Places, songs, smells and tastes easily take us back to memories we have. We tend to hold on to objects that resonate with us. Some may call it hoarding... but it's justified.

5. We are empathetic.

We tend to feel others feelings as our own and truly put ourselves in their shoes as much as we can. We can easily sense when something is off with someone without them having to say a word.

6. We love being around water.

Being the water sign, cancers are the most relaxed and happy around water. If they had it their way, you'd never be able to get them to leave the beach.
