Some girls have been blessed to have parents that are of average, or above average height and, therefore, end up of an average or slightly above average height. Some of us aren't that lucky. Coming from two parents who are relatively short almost guarantees that you will be short. There are some really beneficial things about being short, but there are also some not-so-great things about being short. But no matter you view your height (or lack thereof) there are a few things you know to be true.
1. "Short" jeans are NOT made for short people. They're made for slightly below "regular" jean length people. Because, if you're ACTUALLY short, you still have to cuff "short" jeans (maybe even twice).
2. You HATE when girls that are five-two and five-four complain about being too short.
"Omg, I'm soooooo short. Everyone is taller than I am!" Lies. All lies. All five feet (exactly) of me is not taller than you.
3. Whenever you meet someone that is around the same size as you, you almost instantly form a special bond with one another.
4. Never, ever have you heard the four words, "Wow, you're so tall!"
5. You can't decide if you love kids because you're kind of alike, or hate them because they, and everyone else feels the need to point out that you are the same size as said, children.
"Yes, I do realize that I am the same size as a ten-year-old. Thank you for pointing that out."
6. You look at pictures of yourself from 8th grade and think, "Wow, I really haven't grown since then. Like at all."
7. Whenever someone says, "OMG, you're so short!" you're just like...
Thank you. I would have never noticed if you hadn't pointed out the same thing that at least half of the people I have met have already pointed out to me.
8. When you go anywhere that requires an ID to prove your age, you have it out before they even ask because you already know that no one things you are eighteen, when you're actually twenty.
Bonus points if people usually assume your younger (and much taller sibling) is older than you.
9. When you go to the grocery store, you either have to risk your life climbing shelves or ask someone to help you get something down.
Not only can you not reach the top shelf on your own, you can't even really see it.
10. Doing laundry is a real life struggle because, if you're using a really large washer, you basically have to climb in to get all of your clothes out.
Because short legs = short arms.
