Out of all of the things we are tired of, seeing loyal customers every day makes the long days worth it. Even if you don’t work in food service forever, you have a special place for all cashiers and cooks in your heart. Be kind to one another and don’t forget who is handling your food.
If you can relate to these, you know you have worked in food service before.
1. “What would you like to drink with your meal?” “Oh, it comes with a drink? I’ll take a cherry.” “Is Fanta okay?” “No, it’s not, give me Hi-C”

2. When a customer doesn’t quite know what they want, so instead they tell you about what they ordered the last time they ate here and all you can do is smile.

3. FINALLY getting the milkshake machine clean and then at 9:58 a customer comes in and orders 3 milkshakes and you ask yourself, “Should I tell them it’s broken?”

4. Customers dining in less than 30 minutes before closing and not realizing that all the cashiers are staring them down and waiting for them to leave. We get that you’re hungry but I haven’t eaten since noon and it’s 10 o’clock, please leave.

5. Coming to the Drive-Thru and finishing your cell phone conversation before you order. Yeah, I’ll just hang out.

6. This conversation: “Can I have a salad, but I only want chicken, cheese, cucumbers, and tomatoes.” *tries to figure out what they don’t want on their salad*

7. When a family of eight comes in and the person paying goes first, then forgets to give you their money and proceed to crack this joke… “I guess it’s free huh”. No, it’s not free and if you don’t pay you will not get your food.

8. Paying for an $8 meal in all change… Just stop it.

9. “Can I get a Big Mac?” “Sir, this is Zaxby’s” “Hahaha yeah I know… can I get a…”
