10 Things We Miss About Old Grey's

Whether you have been watching "Grey's Anatomy" from the beginning or are only halfway through the series on Netflix, I am sure that you have noticed the first few seasons of the show had something that the later ones just cannot emulate. When a show is on for twelve seasons, it is simply hard to compete with the opening seasons that were awarded Emmys. I still watch "Grey's Anatomy," I have since the first episode aired in 2005 when I was too young to understand 75 percent of the material. I am not saying that the show is worse than it was when it aired. I am saying that it is much different.

Here are some things that we all miss from the opening seasons of "Grey's Anatomy":

1. The original interns:

Meredith, Alex, George, Izzie, and Cristina were the interns that started it all. George was the first one we watched perform a solo appendectomy during the first shift and Meredith was the first to sleep with an attending. They appeared to know it all, more than the attendings at times. Every group of interns that followed them seemed to pale in comparison.

2. Meredith and Derek's "will-they-won't-they" relationship:

Don't get me wrong, stable and family-oriented Meredith and Derek were great. it was what every "Grey's Anatomy" fan was hoping for. There was just something so exciting about the uncertainty of Meredith and Derek when the show began. Sneaking around and estranged wives made for some interesting twists in their relationship. It was fun to watch their story unfold.

3. Addison:

Or more importantly the salmon colored scrubs. I loved "Private Practice." It brought us characters like Amelia and Sam, but I also loved seeing Addison on "Grey's Anatomy." Her sassy attitude and the classy way she handled herself as she watched Meredith and Derek's relationship take flight are all reasons to miss her on the show.

4. Meredith and Cristina's friendship:

Many people have argued that Meredith and Derek were not the core relationship of the show. It was Meredith and Cristina. I have to say that I agree. When things were in complete turmoil between Meredith and Derek, she always had Cristina to fall back on. Their sarcastic banter and their Twisted Sister attributes will always be missed.

5. McSteamy:

Speaking of Mc...Don't we all miss when it was perfectly acceptable to add Mc before any word and it make complete sense? Who doesn't miss McDreamy, McSteamy, McVet, McDog?

7. Izzie:

10. Bailey; "The Nazi":

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
