I am an independent distributor, these are a few things I have learned since I started to share my products with people. This is to all of the distributors and independent home sales ladies and gentlemen:
1. You WILL be told no.
It is a part of it. There is no way around it. No is a common word when trying to sell products to people. They can be skeptical and often make up excuses on why they do not want your product. The best thing to do is to keep sharing your product with other people. Eventually, your products will get around to them.
2. Social media is key.
Use your social media accounts to share your products. Use hash tags. Often times people are curious and want to find out more information. Especially when you use the words, "discount" or "on sale." It draws people in.
3. Share your story.
If you are going to sell a product, really sell it. If you have used your products, show them that your products really do work and will disprove all the haters. I sell "It Works," I bought "The System," my results came out awesome. Once again, curiosity kills the cat and people want to know more about it. Share pictures of your results. The more you get the word out, the more it will spread.
4. Share your success.
If you are trying to have people sign under you, they are not going to put time and effort into something, if they have no idea about it. This month my credit card bills were paid from my side gig. People love hearing that they can make extra money from at home. Sometimes they think it is a scam, so you will be often shot down. If you keep sharing your success, people will realize how it really isn't fake.
5. Never give up.
Being shot down is part of it, but you have to remain persistent. Keep pushing on. Keep sharing your story and success. People will start to notice. It will be hard work but it is worth it!
6. Be social.
Part of posting on your social media, you will have to interact with people. Word of mouth often travels far. Show them pictures of results and text messages (with permission) of how others like the product. Build a relationship with the person you are talking to, don't just try to sell your product.
7. Listen to those trying to help you.
It may get old, but those trying to help you have learned a thing or two while doing this. Meet with others, talk about what works and what doesn't work.
8. It's okay to do giveaway contests, but don't give away your products for free all the time.
Doing a giveaway will draw people in and a chance to try the products, but do not start giving away free products all the time to whoever, whenever. People will take advantage of not paying for the products. I have to pay for my products, usually I will order them and then do a giveaway. So if I gave away all my product, how would I ever make a living off of them?
9. Build relationships with customer and your team.
If you keep in touch with your customers, they are more likely to keep purchasing product from you, and you have gained a friend. You will learn how the nicer you are, the more people like you. Building healthy relationships with your "team," is important also. They will teach you, you will teach those under you. Check in on your customers and team members at least weekly, preferably more so they know that you are putting in effort to build a relationship.
Most importantly...
10. Love your product.
Clearly if someone approaches you hating a certain product, you wouldn't want to buy it. So the same thing goes when you are selling your products. Talk highly of them if you have used them. Don't lie to your customers, that can be bad. Tell your customers about your favorite product(s). If you love your product it is easier to have people want to try it!
