As I was scrolling through my Facebook the other night, I came across your profile. Your new girlfriend had tagged you in a picture of her baby bump and of course, all my jealousy and rage came rushing into my head. That is until I realized how unbelievably lucky I was because I got away from you. I started thinking of reasons why I was thankful that I haven't heard from you in years and I came up with 10.
1. Thank you for making me realize you were not worth it, because you sure aren't worth a second glance anymore.
2. Thank you for making me cry my eyes out every night for a year because I thought I lost the love of my life and that I couldn't live without you. News flash, I didn't lose the love of my life, I am still alive and I am healthier than a horse.
3. Thank you for allowing me to grieve and get over the worst decision of my life. Justin Bieber said in his song, "My momma don't like you and she likes everyone," and he was right because, boy, did my mom hate you. So did my dad and my sister.
4. Thank you for letting me still be your friend on social media so that I can stalk you and the girl you got pregnant with when you cheated on me. I like when I scroll down and see something that I can laugh at.
5. Thank you, because you allowed me to learn how to love myself. When I was with you, all I did was tell myself I wasn't pretty or good enough because you told me I wasn't pretty or good enough. News flash number two, I am pretty enough and I also am good enough.
6. Thank you, because you allowed me to let go of the screaming fights, the name calling and the nights I couldn't sleep because all I could do was cry and think about my world ending.
7. Thank you for making me realize that the love I had for you was definitely not love. Cheating, screaming and name calling is not love.
8. Thank you for choosing drugs and your horrible friends over me because I never wanted to be surrounded by them anyways. By the way, two of them tried to take me on dates days after I ended it with you, so you should probably reevaluate your friends.
9. Thank you for breaking me down because the new love in my life kisses my broken pieces and shines light in the places that you made very dark.
10. Lastly, thank you to the woman who knowingly got with my boyfriend because you were the key to my handcuffs that released me from him. You saved me from all the pain I endured with him. He's yours now and I couldn't be happier.
