Your roommate/BFF is basically the other half of your body walking around campus. So naturally you’re texting every minute of every hour that you’re apart from one another. Sometimes it depends on the day. Sometimes it depends on both of your moods. Or sometimes it’s the same sh*t, different day. But here is what typically pops up on your phone screen, when they text you:
1. “Hey b*tch”
You never take this offensively. This is basically the best friend version of a guy texting you “Good morning beautiful.” Yeah, that’s exactly what it translates to.
2. “What are you doing right now?”
This is code for, “I’m lonely so please come spend time with me.” So naturally, you drop what you’re doing and run to their side because it’s been a couple of hours and there is so much to catch up on.
3. “Omg where are you?”
Something super juicy just happened and the story cannot be told through a text message. It’s either too much to type, or they want to make dramatic facial expressions and hand gestures to explain it.
4. “Want to get food?”
Let’s be honest, we’re all always hungry. Sheetz run, McDonalds, Taco Bell, doesn’t matter which one, we already know our order.
5. “I hate boys”
Even though you want to respond with, “I told you he was a f*ck boy”, don’t, it’s too soon.
6. “Can we have a sleepover tonight?”
Yes, we live in the same houses, and our bedrooms are steps away… But cuddling in one bed together is way better.
7. “Can I eat your ______ in the fridge?”
Of course you say yes. What kind of roommate would you be if you didn’t share your snacks? A greedy one.
8. “Currently hate life”
I don’t know about you, but I send this one often. I don’t really hate my life. It’s just something to say when the day can’t get any worse and you don’t know whether to drive your car into the river, or cry in the fetal position.
9. “I miss you”
It’s been 37 minutes… I’m in class… Leave me alone please… “Just kidding I love you, see you in 23 minutes!”
10. “Can we do this?”
This one could really mean anything. Making a new recipe off of Pinterest, constructing a craft that looks like rocket science, dying your hair a crazy color that might fry it, really, anything.
Text your BFF right now and ask them if they can relate. 10/10 would recommend.
